One of my favorite German restaurants in SF. I love that it has an old school vibe not common to most of the other German places in SF, and there are a lot of vegetarian options. I always get the spatzel, and it is the...More

This place reminds me of restaurants that I visited in East Berlin in the 70s and 80s. Stark appearance but good food. We had the herring salad, potatoe pancakes, sauerbraten, jaegerschnitzel and rouladen. We enjoyed everything, but the Jaegerschnitzel and saurbraten were the best. And...More

This place looks very uninteresting from the outside and it is very small but the staff are great and the food was spectacular and very reasonably priced especially for San Francisco.

Wonderful menu, Christiane never fails to make clients feel at home. Gänsebraten (goose) served at Christmas time. Full selection of German beers 🍻. Never disappointed with food and service. Highly recommended!

We came here as part of our German restaurant weekend for Oma's 70th birthday. She was so incredibly happy at her excellent food. She said she was full and still ate a bite of every German Christmas cookie we got from the dessert specials. Everyone...More

The restaurant is very small, and has a East German ambiance. The wait staff/operators are so nice and friendly. The food was outstanding. We had a group of 10 and everyone was happy as a clam. The potato pancakes were so yummy, we kept ordering...More

We have't eaten here in several years and happened to be in the neighborhood so decided to come again. The hostess/waitress was there alone serving the entire restaurant. Still, she was friendly and while slow, the service was good. We shared a deli platter to...More
