I invited 5 friends to join me for dinner at Piperade on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. When deciding on a restaurant, I reviewed the Chronicle's 100 Best Restaurants in the Bay Area and chose this one because reviews suggested that the noise...More

We had dinner here recently. It's quiet enough so that one can have a conversation without raising one's voice. They still have white tablecloths. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was good, probably not in the "wow" category, but good. Dogs...More

We had an unfortunate experience with the olive oil cruet which could have turned the dinner into a disaster but the waitstaff was amazing. Not only comping our drinks but sending over complimentary desserts. While the food was good it was the service that made...More

Chef uses fresh ingredients and prepares the dishes perfectly. Ordered Piperade and calamari for appetizers which were delicious and good portion. Must try the roast pork cheek, if it is on the menu in your visit, since it literally melts in your mouth.

Wonderful, personalized service with awesome food. Mejol date appetizer, Pasilla peppers filled with goat cheese, Blue nose sea pass, rack of Lamb all were outstanding. Deserts of apple tart and Grandma's chocolate cake rounded out a fine dinning experience. Quiet, I rushed service helped make...More

This restaurant has been around for a while and lacks the "new" vibe. It was very quiet, but the food was outstanding. It had a great Spanish wine list. Our Spanish dishes were delicious and authentic. I would recommend it very highly.

We were so happy with not just with the food, but service and the whole ambiance of the place was worth a lot more than what we paid for. Service was always friendly and attentive. The food was amazing especially the stuffed pepper. And the...More

Though similar to Spanish tapas and meals, Basque food is enough different in flavor and style that it is well worth seeking out. During our visit there with friends, we noted the still-lovely ambiance. The 4 of us enjoyed sharing several different tapas, including grilled...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
