Came with friends. More pricey than I remembered. Great mussels in creative sauces. We all enjoyed our meals. Very rich. Fun. Tasty.

Literally just left the restaurant & have to say I'm very disappointed. The food was good enough for 3-4 stars, but the way the waiter rang up the bill drops it to one. Our waiter was Pascal, if he's ever your waiter, make sure you read your bill carefully. We went during happy hour. Oysters are suppose to be $1,... More

Despite the website and Trip Adivsor indicating that this place was open on Sunday evenings, we found that it was closed when we arrived. Everything was dark and there was no sign on the door, chairs were stored on table tops, and there was no sign on the door to indicate that they had closed up unexpectedly. We were disappointed,... Ate here with our son on a Sunday evening. Intimate atmosphere with fireplace and very good food. I had the duck breast cooked to perfection. Our waiter was not the friendliest guy, but service good. Would definitely go back, love this street and grouping of restaurants.

We happened upon Plouf on a Tuesday night. No wait, and our waitress was excellent. Food was good, loved the ravioli special.

This place is tucked in an alley and so worth looking for. The menu is very French/Belgium. The mussels were amazing and the garlic bread too die for.

This used to be one of our favorite spots and we've been here over 20 times. But it's popularity has been slipping, maybe because of sloppy service. They forgot to bring out one of our starters. Then they brought me the wrong main course, and by the time they brought out the right one, my dining companions had finished their... More

I love this place! If you sit at the bar they have great oysters for 1$ each. They also have a great happy hour menu. Their mussels are done several ways and are always great. The crab cakes are good also. The place is situated on an alley just east of the China town gate so you really feel local... More

Salmon on shredded brussel sprouts was excellent, crab cakes were delicious, and they even offer Oysters Rockefeller. Service was fast and friendly. Only one beer is offered on tap, but five or six others are available in bottles.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
