My daughter and I visited this cozy tea room and had the Covent Garden Tea for Two. We chose from a good selection of teas (we each had our own pot) and vegetarian sandwiches (they have meat as well). We really liked the almond scone and the Brie/pepper jelly sandwiches.

The holiday menu was still in place-sandwiches with cranberry and pumpkin were declicious. Love the charmingly kitschy decor-a mix of upholstery, wood, mismatched linen and china, beads and floral wallpaper. All four of us agreed that the teas, sandwiches and sweets were really great. OWe had been to Dartealing a year ago and the service was much quicker, we also... More

Celebrating my wife's birthday and she loves high tea. Found this very nice and reasonable place in SOMA. Neiborhood not the best. Parked next to a homeless person tent. But the tea was wonderful. Most things were made when ordered and had a great selection of different teas and if you liked them you could purchase more.

I stepped off the streets of San Francisco and straight into 1900s England. The charming wallpaper, quaint sofas, and dangling strings of pearls reminded me of my great grandmother's house. The delicate china made my friend and I feel very lady like as we munched on our creamy tea sandwiches and sweet crumpets. And the tea! We chose a berry... More

This is not your typical English Tea House, the varieties of tea available were tasty but unusual. The tea service was varied. The Brown bread was one of the best. The fillings on the sandwiches were extremely creative, definitely try the fish and chips sandwich. I did not find a single thing that I did not like. The cucumber sandwich... More

Came here to have high tea with friends during the weekend. Overall, it was an ok experience for us. The place is cute, feel like a grandma's home. We had 2 orders of Chelsea Sweet Tea, Knightbridge High Tea, and Covenant Garden High Tea. First of all, the Chelsea Sweet Tea is not cheap at $42 per order. The tea... More

I'm from another state and wanted to treat my Mom and her friends to high tea at Dartealing after reading the mostly positive reviews on this place from another rating site. The lady who handled my phone reservation was very nice, patient, and was very accomodating of some special needs. I was totally comfortable and knew right away I made... More

This past weekend a dear friend and I sat down to tea at DarTealing. We had to wait for a table as a large group delayed their departure but it was worth the wait. Our patience was even rewarded with additional tea sandwiches at no charge. The place is small but does not lack in charm or antique glassware. The... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
