Couldn't fault this Japanese, as good as any I've had in Sydney and have awesome seafood. Very friendly efficient service, more like a classy restaurant than one within a shopping centre. Great value, very fresh.

While attending a conference at the Moscone Center, wondered into the Metreon in search of lunch. Amongst all the hubbub of a food court was a quiet & serene spot that is Sanraku. Classic Japanese noodles, donburi rice dishes as well as a full sushi bar were all available. The cold buckwheat noodles with tempura was very good, and now... More
This little Japanese restaurant is a small establishment with big flavors right off the Metreon food court. It overlooks the lovely Yerba Buena Gardens in the heart of downtown SF near many hotels and SFMOMA. The service is impeccable- friendly, efficient and quick. In any other city than SF, this would get a TripAdvisor 5 rating for the fresh sushi... More
Sanraku perfectly located for a quick and tasteful lunch after visiting SFMoma. Had a very good Sushi / Sashimi dish and a very good tempura. Chirashi de Luxe also perfect. All dishes fab quality of fresh fish and therefore very enjoyable
For spicy tuna lovers, there are two alternatives. The Volcano rolls are fantastic if you are into hot and spicy. The dynamite rolls are good too. The grilled hamachi cheeks are excellent value if you cooked instead of raw. Ask for teriyaki sauce and rice. The hamachi sashimi is some what disappointed. The way the hamachi was sliced was not... First, they serve many nice beer from Japan; no matter which type of Japanese food you want, they've got all, from soba to tempura, from sushi to tonkatsu, And I like their Combination Lunch, you can pick two different items.
I was craving sushi but didn't want to spend a fortune on sushi. I found Sanraku on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I was planning to see a movie and Sanraku is located inside the metreon. How convenient! I had the omakase and it was good but nothing spectacular. At $50, I didn't expect much but it... More
We go back every year during a conference at the Moscone Ctr and there is never a disappointment. Service is prompt and well done. It's crowded but they do take reservations for large groups.
We had dinner with friends here, had a nice dinner, quality ingredients but the food was nothing special. We had many appetizers and sake so maybe this is why the bill added up at the end and I was still hungry. The restaurant is in a mall and one needs to pass through the food court but it's totally separate.
