We decided to try Plaj because we were staying with my elderly mom at the hotel and it looked like a unique place to eat. Wow! Everything was amazing, even the pickled herring, which is a bit adventurous for me. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quiet, romantic, delicious meal.

The location of this restaurant is not special. The space is lacking in ambience and so I did not have high expectations for the food, in spite of its reputation. Happily, I was very much surprised by how beautiful and delicious the food was. It would be easy to just order and enjoy the appetizers, as they were excellent, but... More

The food was fantastic. Assorted cheese, dolmas, cocktails, craft beer, and wine were the highlights. A lot of creativity goes into the flavor and presentation of the food. Unfortunately, the restaurant feels very stuffy and the staff were as cold as raw herring. Service wasn't bad, but I expected more playfulness from a place positioned as "Plaj - Play". It... More

Attentive service, good food choices. We shared a delicious butternut squash soup with crab and cognac cream dollop. Also enjoyed Swedish meatballs with rich gravy and lingonberry sauce, yummy mashed potatoes; chicken breast over cabbage and sun chokes with creamy sauce.

We visited Plaj after it was recommended to us by friends. We found it to be an excellent adventure with the Elk Tartare, Lobster Gnocci, and Pork chop being the big stars.. The service was very good with the staff attentive when needed while not being overbearing.

A charming restaurant located at the Inn at the Opera, close walking to the Opera House, Ballet, and Symphony. Ideal for a pre-event dinner. Food is Scandinavian with abundant fish and smoked meats and game. Elegant decor, although back room can be noisy. Service is adequate and geared toward getting you out on time for your performance. We will definitely... More

In house restaurant, Inn at the Opera. Modest but well edited menu. Are here twice and both times a very good experience. Good choice of wines, bottles and by glass. Superb staff. Great location for pre/post performance meal or drink.

We went to the restaurant a Sunday evening and even though there weren't many other guests, we had to wait forever before a member of staff found the time to find us a table. After placing our order we once again were stuck waiting for the food to come - again, despite only a half full restaurant. We ordered Swedish... More

The menu is, for the most part, genuinely Scandinavian. For those who love it (as I do) this is a great discovery. The herring is delicious and so are the fish and vegetables. I did not taste the meat courses but they looked good too. Only the desserts were a bit too gooey. I wish there was something traditional like... More
