For the sake of the gods, how long can it take to make a caffé latte? Rest assured, you won't confuse this outpost of Brooklyn with an Italian coffee joint. Staff is friendly.

Place was completely crowded (queue backed up to the street), breakfast portion was a joke, paid $30 for two small sandwiches. Coffee was the only good thing.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The line moves quickly. The coffee recommended by staff was Three Africas. I enjoyed it black. It was balanced and pleasing. Perfect way to start my morning run. Go, and grab some beans to take home!

Pricey average coffee and waited in line. Limited selection of food and nothing traditional for breakfast. We left with to go coffees and nothing to eat. Went elsewhere.

If you like a good espresso coffee it is worth standing in line. Espresso is great, line moves fast, food is good too. Nice ambience - if it is full inside it is easy to get a coffee to go and sit in the public area nearby.

Amazing coffee! Delicious array of easy-to-grab food and pastries. Extraordinary food experience. Unbelievably tasty pistachio cardamom poundcake.

A gem of a coffee shop in San Francisco - easily the best coffee we've had in our USA travels so far. Full of flavour and I loved watching them make different types of coffee. A must if you're in SF - I wish I could transport it back to Melbourne!

Get here before 7:30am if possible, or you'll be in a long line, but even that won't be so bad because one of the best things about this place is the other customers, who as discriminating coffee drinkers, are generally very interesting in their own right.

The coffee I felt was a little too aged and the extraction was fairly underwhelming. It's a shame there aren't more good cafes in San Francisco.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
