I would definitely consider myself a snob when it comes to truffles and many other desserts/candys. This place by far has the best truffles I've ever tasted so please do yourself a favor and go try them!!

Tiny store with great variety of truffles and coffee specialties. The owner is very friendly and you can tell, that he lives his Job! The truffles are incredible and we enjoyed them bit by bit while driving through the Country. This place is a gem. Thank you a lot.

the most fantastic truffle I have ever tasted. Chef Gorce showed us how he made them. The best part is you can order them and have them shipped. My personal Favorite was the hazelnut

We went here based on trip advisor reviews and we were disappointed. We found the truffles to be very overpriced at $1.00 a piece for a very small truffle. The taste was nothing extraordinary.

This little gem houses excellent handcrafted French truffles, not the mass produced ones in a box. Each one is unique in shape and there is a wide variety of flavors to suit everyone's taste and some are even infused with liquer. My favortie was the dark chocolate, the caramel, and peanut butter. The owner is a friendly knowledgeable Frenchman who... More

Who knew truffles come in such variety? Unique and exotic flavors to tickle your taste buds. Go ahead, spend the money, get the 1/4lb container and try most of them! Live a little...count calories another day :)

What a treat to sink your teeth into the delicious 2 bite truffles. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and tasting several varieties of his truffles including champagne, cayenne, caramel, cognac and chocolate. All were delicious. Wished we could have had room to eat more. Definitely worth stopping in to see.

This tiny shop is just big enough for the truffle-maker, an espresso machine, and a case full of tiny, delicious, two-bite truffles. They aren't fancy in shape but their flavors are exquisite. Go There!

So many flavors of truffles. The consistency is smooth and decadent! I loved the dark chocolate and caramel but the green tea was also amazing. My daughter loved the pomegranate. Great coffee too and you get a free truffle with your coffee!

The truffles are among my favorite desserts, and these at XOX are really good. The place itself is nothing special (why_) but the coffee is very good. Try the cognac truffle...yummie!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
