We arrived at this airy and charming restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating in time for happy hour. The beer was very good, the marguerita not exceptional, and the small plates delicious and very fairly priced. We had flaunts, gordita and the huge plate of nachos, followed by one of the bowls. It takes an inordinate amount of work and... More

Heard and read a lot about Gracias Madre, and decided to take my vegan daughter here for a treat. We loved it! Fresh, well-prepared dishes in a clean and comfortable setting. Good drinks and excellent service. They offer a creative menu, that includes Mexican classics, but with a vegan twist. Parking is limited in this area, but it's only a... More

I went with my boyfriend when we were visiting San Fran. This place came highly recommended. I noted it is vegan because we were blind sided. It was still good but we are not vegan so we were not 100% thrilled. We also could not drink because the restaurant does not have a liquor license so we couldn't even have... More

If you go there during prime you better make a reservation. The food is nice. Extra sauce on the table. Vegans will be happy.

We had a delicious lunch and as several others who have visited did not realize how delicious vegetarian food can be. Their coconut ceviche was amazing. Highly recommended.

My husband and I enjoy a delicious post-it dinner. Since it was our first visit here we decided to try the chefs menu which was a four course with a huge variety of choices. We asked our charming server her recommendations and suggest the Jackfruit tacos were her favorite. So glad we took her advice. From start to finish the... More

Strolling through the mission district of downtown San Francisco I was growing weary of not finding a place that looked decent enough to eat at when I saw Gracias Madre. The place looked vaguely familiar and then I remembered coming here about four years ago when my daughter first moved to the area. We ordered an early dinner and it... More

Who would have thought that Vegan food would taste so good??? This was really a great surprise and I enjoyed all of the dishes. We had Chilaquiles, Bowl Dos, salads, and a nacho starter. It was all delicious and if you didn't tell me that it was Vegan, I just would have thought we were at an upscale joint! Fabulous!

Visited with my wife & family for dinner on our first night in SF after a long plane journey; the fresh & healthy food here was exactly what we needed. The communal table seating wasn't bothersome at all for us, our waitress was nice, and although we were full we didn't regret ordering dessert!
