So you have to guarantee your reservation by credit card for Seven Hills, but it is worth it (you can cancel within 24 hours notice). I doubt you can get in without a reservation, it's quite tiny. Our meal was perfect, beef carpaccio was the best we've ever had. Prosecco on the house once they found out it was the... More

First thing be open to different things. They offer dishes that are not traditional Italian menu selections however David our server gave us great ideas that created a perfect meal. We shared something from each part of the menu. The chicory salad (a mix of flavors that works) followed by the meatballs (more traditional but fabulous). We then shared the... More

There have been many restaurants at this address that you can ride to on the Hyde Street Cable Car. I really hope Seven Hills stays. It can get kind of pricey if you order lots of little plates. But a good dinner out with wine can be had for a decent tab. Three little stools make up the bar seating... More

Seven Hills manages to pull off a unique feat: it serves rustic Italian dishes familiar to the countryside so loaded with taste and impeccable presentation that you imagine you're dining in much more elegant surroundings. Each course was better than the last: we shared a tenderly poached shrimp cocktail, a heavenly bowl of black truffle pasta with black truffles shaved... More

My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant tonight, everything was perfect! The food was outstanding and the service professional without being stuffy! Don't miss a chance to experience this young chef's amazing talent! Chef Anthony is a rising star for sure!

My wife and I had a lovely meal at Seven Hills during a recent trip to SF. It's a small restaurant, so fairly intimate and nice for couples. The service was excellent. I had the beef carpaccio and parpardelle -- both incredible!! The portions are not huge, but just the right amount. My wife had the kale tagliolini, which she... More

the best meat ball ever. It is a small restaurant but the advantage for us is that you really get personal service. Alex is wonderful. He is very attentive and knows your like and dislike. The pasta is handmade and cooked al dente. they also have really well quality vegetables, meat, and cheese. You feel like you are invited to... More

Seriously, one of the best courses I've had for some time. Delicious. It was so good so the main sort of fades in my memory, but the pasta was perfectly alright, but not up there where the polpette dwells. Couldn't book, but were very well taken care of, the maitre d' recommended a very nice wine bar just across the... More

It's strangely difficult to find restaurants with homemade pasta with genuinely great sauces. This is the place if you want authentic style pasta with attentive, professional service. Small restaurant so be sure to make reservations some time in advance.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
