My family loves this spot in the Mission. The Fondue options are contemporary, with goat cheese and Spanish sausage, etc. A good beer and wine menu. And the black and white cowboy movies on the TV give it a kitschy charm. Fun and tasty.

We like to hit this place before a night of drinking and leather bars. They serve hot liquid cheese here and you dunk stuff into it. A very good idea c

It’s an American style French/ Swiss place. Place is dimly lit, ambiance is rustic modern. Has a nice bar. They’ve got an excellent selection of cheeses. This place would be great for groups. You get to dip into sweet & savory fondue. For the savory type of Fondue we tried the Rawhide (Italian Dolce Gorgonzola, Emmenthaler, White Wine, Bacon, Roasted... More

We took family visiting from Arizona. Reservations may be required. We still had a wait. This is "a hole in the wall" place with a delicious menu of fondue only. Absolutely clean, so don't think dirty when you read hole in the wall.

The farthest thing on my mind was associating a European dish with cowboys. But I love Fondue so I definitely wanted to check out Fondue Cowboy. Love the simple concept of this restaurant, a hip little place in Soma which manages to bring a modern angle to this traditional cuisine. Old John Wayne cowboy movies on a big screen TV... More

Okay -- it's fondue...so you aren't going to get a hamburger or a steak. It's fondue. And with that --- it's good! Lots of great fondues and the sides are great. It's lovely. And the drinks are good.

We had a group of 8, teens to elders. Reservations were a breeze to make. The youngest and oldest in our party were not sure they would like the fondue and they were surprised by how much they enjoyed the food. The potatoes of the savory fondue were the big hit with our group. Great meat tray options. Staff were... More

A great place to go to for fondue whether it's with your friends, family or children. This place is in the heart of SOMA in San Francisco and can be easily accessed with public transportation. The restaurant serve a nice variety of wines to go with the fondue. Mostly vegetarian, which is a treat for vegetarians. The fondue was rich,... More

We went there on a fridaynight and were able to dit at the bar. This was I nice place, you could talk to the hosts. It is a small but lovely restaurant. The fondues are amazing and you have multiple options in what kind you want. We would go there more often if we lived there;)

Fondue Cowboy is located in Soma at Russ and Folsom and is a fantastic spot to grab a great glass of wine (they are very generous with their pours) and a wonderful meal be it one of their creative Fondue delectables or their AMAZING house made meatballs, or a great sliced prime meats plate. The food is here is remarkably... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
