We ordered 4 appetizers.. the cauliflower, steak tartare, bone marrow and potato beignets. All the appetizers were unusual and ok, nothing stood out. For entrees we shared a 12oz NY strip steak, the striped bass, and the chicken. Again all the dishes were good but not WOW! The Restaraunt is relatively small and fills up fast till about 8:00pm but... More

We visited RN74 for Valentine's Day dinner this week. First of all, no one came by for 15 minutes; finally, we had to flag down the water refiller to get the attention of our water. There was only one menu with no choices. One would think that the kitchen could handle one menu, but I guess not. The courses progressed... More

Great service Nice atomosphere But PRICY A total of 6 of us had dinner - 4 of us had the RN experience and 2 kids had lobster lasagna (each). We had the RN74 experience with wine pairing, overll I think the 6 course meal is well balance, but $95+$95 is a bit pricy. Some of my colleagues think the soup... More

I've been here a few times now for lunch and am always pleasantly surprised. I sometimes end up here when more trendy places are booked but i then remember why I like it. The food is really very good and the price point for lunch on par. The lunch fixed price of $35 for 3 courses plus an amouse bouche... More

Let's start with the good news. The sea bass last night was very good. But the goal seems to be to push the most expensive wine they can and the waitstaff was far from helpful or attentive. They do seem to suffer from the traditional French attitude that their restaurant seeks to live by. A very pricey alternative.

We had a 1pm reservation for our meal. They seated us right away; the ambiance was cozy, and the inside looked like an old fashioned train station. They played old french songs with a modern twist. Our waiter was friendly, approachable, and answered questions about the restaurant and the menu well. The meals were excellent, and we all enjoyed our... More

Although was there for a business dinner, wines were great and enjoyed my steak. the Coq au Vin chicken looked good along with the fish. Lots of wine selections. Deserts were great too.

Only had two glasses of wine (brilliant) and a one course meal but I have nothing bad to say - great service staff and good food and above all excellent wines

I made a reservation for 1:00pm, but arrived early at 12:30pm. I told the host, and he told me he was going to check and get us something soon as the first shift was wrapping up. He never came back to tell us anything, even though I did make eye contact with him. Then another host came to the front,... More

The event was a friends dinner following the last Giants game. Eight were in attendance, and we were well cared for at our table throughout the evening. The most attentive to our needs was the wine steward, who nailed every request with the perfect match to what we wanted. The wine list is extensive, but do not be afraid to... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
