What a fantastic dining experience! Geoff is an incredibly talented chef who really puts thought and care into his dishes. I attended his Japanese Tasting Menu dinner and was wowed! He served 8 different courses, all with fresh seafood and unique Japanese flavors. I especially...loved the black cod and the coconut panna cotta dessert. I also enjoyed the award-winning sake that was available for purchase. It paired nicely with the dinner. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with good company. I highly recommend it. This was a first-time experience dining in a pop up prefix menu experience for me. We were there for our birthday celebration, 6 course omakase pre fix menu and it was a pretty unique sake brewery background. Communal table was shared between 12 guests. Chef...Geoff was very friendly, down-to-earth, creative, playful and artistic with his food and plating. The first course was soba noodle twirl beautifully with butter emulsion, sake, mirin, mustard seed, crab innerds, and Japanese leaf flakes. I love this sauce so much that I can drink it!! Second course was chawan mushi, very delicate, soft, top off with fresh crab Dungeness crab and ikura. Third dish was my favorite, roasted Dungeness crab that was lightly poached and then roasted with a touch of salt. It has a chili sambal with crackers, and the same soba sauce for dipping the crab, YUM!! Then we were given a soup that has rice stew with crab which to me resembled porridge and wasn't impressed. The next dish was Japanese omelette with sweet sauce which really tasted like I was in Japan but it was lacking the crunchiness of calamari. Lastly it finished off with a square dessert that resembles butter pecan and mochi. This was probably the most disappointing course since it wasn't satisfying or mind-blowing enough for us. A souffle would be more impressive :-) We also ordered a sake cocktail that have grapefruit and Ginger with peeled orange skin. Not bad but it was a small quantity and diluted with ice. Strong performance by the chef but I would expect more creativity for the desert. Hats off to chef Geoff, bravo! I hope it would be a full-time restaurant that we can always dine in soon!More

First you are frustrated with strange location - among warehouses. Then you can’t believe that restaurant door looks like a closet. After you are interested in idea. Then you are excited about food. Definitely worth every dollar!!!

this incredible tasting menu from Geoff was a fantastic experience. A friend of mine brought about 20 of us together for a birthday dinner and she couldn't have picked a better way to celebrate. Geoff and his staff came out with each course, explaining what...was being served, describing the sourcing and preparation. this personal touch really enhanced the whole dinner. all the courses were amazing, with a nice mix of hot and cold (heavily seafood) I've been recommending this experience to all my foodie SF friends and if you have a chance, don't miss out!!More

My friend and I were celebrating our birthday month, and decided to try this sushi experience with Geoff of Ichido at Sequoia Sake. It was unique, and interesting. He explained every dish and how or where he caught the fish. It was nice knowing where...your food comes from! It was paired really nicely with the Sake made by Sequoia Sake. At the same time, we sat next to a fun group of guys, by the end of the dinner we had new friends!More

Geoff provides a simply wonderful dining and social experience, with fantastic food that is beautifully plated. Great for a special occasion (I brought my sister for a birthday celebration), or no occasion at all!
