Strictly lunch (although there are some great muffins and coffee) -- always busy with visitors and locals grabbing the BEST sandwiches. My favorite is actually the egg salad -- but I think the most popular is the meatloaf. Vegetarian options as well. Call ahead!

Great place to pick up delicious sandwiches for both carnivores and vegetarians. Locally sourced ingredients made into imaginative sandwiches. One of my favorites is the Red Rock Corner --Seal Cove Farm goat cheese, roasted eggplant, homemade tomato jam and greens on olive bread, and my husband loves the Grand Banker --Smoked turkey, brie, pesto mayo, tomato, red onion, & lettuce... Small little shop on the side of a busy road. Great sandwiches, quality food. Minimal seating inside, but there are picnic benches outside to sit at with umbrellas. Only downside is their hours of operation. If you're a local working a regular 9-5 it's impossible to get there since they aren't open on weekends due to catering.

If you are looking for a local sandwich shop this is it. Everything is home cooked and very tasty. A little on the pricer side, but totally worth it. On the other side of MDI, but worth the drive.

Originally stopped because of the sign... Real good food, yes please! The menu was creative and limited. The sandwiches were sooo good, great for a light lunch or snack after hiking. We also enjoyed the no bakes and drink selection.

We probably would have never stopped here, except a local suggested this would be a great place for lunch. They were not wrong. Incredible sandwich (actually so big it was too much to est). Can't go wrong here.

Stopped for lunch on last day of Acadia vacation. Wish I had found it sooner! Nice variety of sandwiches. I got one of the turkey ones with Brie and pesto... really tasty! Next time I go to MDI, I'll pack these sandwiches before heading into Acadia for a hike.

Mothers was amazing, our best lunch all week on MDI by far, the sandwiches were awesome, the grandpa jack meatloaf sandwich was perfect, fresh bread, fresh hot meatloaf and nice sauces with fresh organic lettuce as was the Dagwood with crispy fresh bacon and La Sirena. Unfortunately they were sold out of the eggplant with goat cheese which I really... More

We stopped at mother's kitchen on the way back from our scenic biplane ride. At first we wondered mother's kitchen....But we decided to go into this small lunch spot and were so happy we did. They had several picnic tables outside with umbrellas. The menu was to die for. There was a broad selection of specially crafted sandwiches. Something for... More
