Mala Ocean Tavern is a bright airy restaurant in Lahaina on the water on the North end of Front street. Chef Mark Elman has 3 little gems right in a row. Mala, Honu, and Friedas. You can see the turtle floating in and out with the tide they love eating off the rocks in front of the restaurants. The food... More

We had a very delicious meal here on a weeknight. We had a reservation but arrived early. The staff was very friendly and seated us at the bar to wait. Our table on the open air patio was ready in less than 10 minutes which pleasantly surprised us. We had complimentary chip/salsa and a drink, followed by the fish special,... More

A real beach house feel but don't let that fool you, this place rocks. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone but seafood is a specialty. I had the fresh catch, a Monchong which was so fresh and tasty served with the most amazing mash and greens. My wife had the chowder, thick, rich and packed with... More

While we were on vacation for a week we ate out a number of times: Dukes, Kimos, Leilani, and we felt our best meal was at Mala. Great fresh fish. The setting is wonderful--right on ocean's edge. My only beef is that the drinks are overpriced. I guess they figure they have location. The best ahi of the week.

The food here is not your "average" seafood restaurant. It seems to be a mix of Asian and American comfort food, using the best local ingredients! The restaurant is indoor open air and is literally on the waters edge! Service was friendly and accommodating.

Seating outside is limited, but we were lucky to snag a table by the ocean. Somewhat on the outskirts of Lahaina made parking easy. Brunch menu had a good selection. I ordered the heuvos rancheros which were really tasty and had a nice presentation. My husband had the loco moco which he enjoyed. The no-jito was also fantastic.

Have been there 2 times, other family members have gone several times. A must stop! Excellent food, drinks, awesome view---on the water near the little marina, watch for the turtles swimming right there!!!! Had Mahi Mahi, others in party also had a fish dish----can hardly wait to go again. Has Happy Hour before 4:30

Being splashed by the sea in our little table for two outside (which I loved) I consider a bonus, and listening to the waves tickle the rocks right beside us, we dined on incredible burratta, tomato, fig,on tasty toasties, to die for! Whether a burger or Balinese stir fry, you can't go wrong. Service exceptional. A little tavern by the sea... More

It does have a great location with inside and outside dining. We chose outside on the water. It was way too crowded. Tables were crammed into a tiny area and were about 1 foot apart from the next table. The servers had to side-shimmy and walk slow to serve everyone. Even though it was open-aired. The sun was beating down... More
