Been here many times for lunch. Tried breakfast. Will not return. Long wait for coffee. Long wait for food. Waiter's attitude was so poor, I wanted out of there almost from the moment she came to our table. Syrup watered down, flavorless. Overcooked eggs. After...years of great lunch experiences, will never go back. Talked with manager. She was apologetic, but said little to assuage my concerns. We live here on Maui. Great local Faire, and stunning desert options. Portions are large and tasty. During prime time there is a ~20 minute wait, its that good. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

We have been dining at the Kula Bistro for many years and it used to be Great.... however, the last few visits we have notice a decline in food quality and service. On our most recent visit a few days ago.... the food and service...were very disappointing. 4 people dined. 1 dinner (steak) was way over done... not medium rare, One dinner was cold, and One had pasta that the sauce was very runny. Our server was very nice... but not well trained. It will be a while before we go back.More

The food here is delicious, and the servers are very friendly. One of our best meals on our trip. The bakery here has a lot of tempting desserts. The garden by the patio is peaceful.

We were recommended to go to Kula Bistro by our waiter down at Wailea Resort. No reservations taken so get there before 6 pm, or you will have to wait a bit for a table. It is worth it. Food is very tasty with veggies...being the star of the show... It is BYOB and the store across the road has poor selection of wine, so stop in MAKAWAO at the General Store on your way (they have great selection of wine.) We had crab cakes to start. Very nice. Then we had catch of the day (Mahi) which was okay...but veggies with it were superb. All of the deserts are amazing, so leave room....More

We stayed near Kula and read great reviews about Kula Bistro. We were not disappointed. Our first visit was a to-go order of a Rueben and fries. It was delicious! Not soggy which is important for a takeout sandwich. Their desserts are amazing! We tried...the lilikoi bar and coconut cake. Our second visit was a few days later for the coconut cream pie and caramel chocolate turtle pie. Third visit was for breakfast on our last morning. We had the smoked salmon benedict and ahi benedict. Both were delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. It’s worth a visit if you head upcountry.More

It's not about the location, view or atmosphere. It's about the food and staff that treats you like family! From Aunty Tammy, to Mathew to Liz, we know most of the staff. And we certainly know the menu. My all time fav: Bolognese. Portion size...and taste can't be beat. My husband loves the beef tips with mushrooms, as well as whatever daily special they have to offer. Best part: its BYOB! Bring your fav bottle of wine or beer beverage. If you forgot, you can hop across the street to buy something at Morihara General Store. No matter what you order, you'll end up full and taking extra home!More

This place may seem expensive but the portions are large enough that most plates could feed two. My wife and I shared a 12" pizza for lunch and still had a slice left. The salads are huge too. Since you'll most likely be stuffed, get...a dessert to go. I got the Death by Chocolate cake and it was great, so moist and just subtlety sweet.More

I used to love this place, every birthday or excuse I could eat here I did. My daughter took me for my birthday in Oct. we had an older gentleman for our waiter, he was not very polite and annoyed we were waiting for my...son inlaw. It was not busy, food was not as good and the shrimps were small. Not the experience I have been used too. So I try it again now it’s Nov. my friend and I ate on Monday, we had a dark haired girl with purple in her ponytail. She didn’t even greet us, use her name! I would ask her something and she would answer awha, she hardly said 4 words. I could not believe she was a server for you at this restaurant I once loved. This was so disappointing. This girl needs some training on serving and learning to be friendly! The food was ok, again the shrimp described was not scampi it was cocktail shrimp. Not sure I will be back!!!More

What you order and what you get are two different things. I specifically ordered a salad with roasted eggplant however when the salad was brought to the table there was no eggplant. When I questioned the server she said the menu had changed but they...had not updated Logic says you would tell the customer when they order “oh by the way” However that was not the case nor was there an apology or a smile from our server. We also ordered the mushroom caps stuffed with seafood. Now I don’t claim to be a connoisseur however this tasted like tuna! Another person with me tasted it and said as well it was tuna, not fresh ahi tuna….canned tuna Again when we had asked about the mushrooms and seafood we were told it was crab and shrimp ground up. Now that does not sound appealing either, if it is crab and shrimp ground up it tasted like tuna! In all fairness the other two persons with us had a great meal. The food here does look good however ask questions when you order. Service was OK but not greatMore
