We both had the marlin fish & chips; if you enjoy fish & chips, this is a great choice. A simple, casual restaurant with reasonable prices for Hanalei. Lively, popular and a bit noisy. Sit outside on the porch for a quieter experience, or soak up the island life inside.

SO SO SO GOOD. That is not an understatement. I think it's the best fish and chips I've ever had. I hear they have amazing fish tacos, but we weren't there on the right night. I guess they serve those a couple times a week. Service was great, prices seemed on par for Hawaii, drinks were yummy. Also they had... More

I had the grilled hebi sandwich and he had the fried macnut chicken. Starter was the Asian crab cakes. You should know that I'm a crab cake purist (crab and just enough binder to hold it together is all you need) and loved these...great spice, great flavor. My fish was wonderful and his chicken was great too. The ambiance of... More

Tip: Go for lunch instead of paying the dinner rates. Big diff. Had the marlin fish and chips, awesome good, but the slaw and the mayo for the fish were unnecessarily spicy. Crab cakes were good and spicy (as expected). Mediterranean salad was the best. Cranberry bread pudding was just OK, large serving but very skimpy on the sauce. NO... More

Popped in for lunch because it looked a lot nicer than most of the surrounding places and menu had a bit more interest. Ended up both getting the Gorgonzola burger ($13), which was really nice - gorgonzola sauce complementing the onions and burger well. Fresh, well cooked with nice fries on the side that worked really well with vinegar. Waitresses... More

Delicious & fresh fish and chips. Had the fish sandwich the next day and was equally impressed. Fish was based on market price so you knew what they had was fresh. Fries were also fantastic! Great atmosphere and staff. Highly recommended.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting Hanalei Bay. We had to wait a little while for a table (maybe 15 minutes), and it was pretty crowded, but the food was worth the wait. I got the shrimp open face sandwich, and it was my favorite shrimp dish of the trip. My husband got the fish & chips, which were... More

There are many places to eat in Hanalei. This place seems to be the most crowded, filled with laughter and lively conversations. It is very casual and our food was delicious! We both ordered the chicken salad, mine was stuffed into a yummy ripe papaya and my husband chose a big avocado as his 'bowl'. No tables were available for... More

We are longtime Bostonians, and we’ve lived in London , so we know how Fish & Chips should be cooked. The outside should have a light, golden, maybe slightly- crunchy batter coating. The inside should be cooked through, but soft, moist, tender, flavorful. It should yield easily to a fork. Hawaiian Opah is a soft, delicate, very flavorful fish, so... More

Hanalei is a sleepy town so we have to be careful about getting out of the house before 7pm to eat! We went to Hanalei Gourmet on a whim and it was pretty good. They had live music that was a touch too loud. The beer selection is minimal, but sufficient. Weird that you can't drink a beer if you... More
