This is a hidden gem. Everything was so good, you can tell the quality of their raw materials in the end result. I want to come back. You have to try the doughnuts to understand the following remark, “the doughnuts are so good that even...the center of it was tasty” 🤦🏻 Absolutely loved the place!More

For Ramen lovers. A Canadian and and Berkeley native go to Kuaui and open Bar-Acuda. It’s so successful they open a Ramen resto just behind it (Ama means the outrigger on a Hawaiian canoe, so in this metaphor Bar-Acuda is the canoe:). That’s the history....Both restaurants are in a beautiful building, but AMA has the better views of the green, cloud covered mountains in the back. Most tables are actually outside under an open roof covered by solar panels. Very green, very Hawaii chic. Cocktails are great, service is friendly and professional. But really, you’re here for the Ramen, which doesn’t disappoint - we are a party of 4, all of whom had a different Ramen and all were very happy. And donuts for desert for those with a sweet tooth. All in all, 5 stars.More

We had a great experience here for dinner while on our trip to Kauai. With the road to Hanalei being one lane and food options being limited in Princeville, we really wanted to enjoy a nice meal. Ama came through with a wonderful setting, great...food and an extremely friendly wait staff. It made for a wonderful evening!More

Setting gets 6 stars. Fried brussel sprouts get six stars. Ramen was beautifully presented, but seared tuna was cold and broth was good but not great. Reasonably priced versus other spots in Hanalei and more than worth it for good food and fantastic setting.

Delicious noodles in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere. The dishes with the bone broth were amazing. The grilled ono over rice with miso glaze we also tasty. Hard to get a table here - reservations are required. Only hiccup was that the people who had our...table before us would not pay the bill and leave and instead of giving us another table we had to wait until they left to be seated.More

Everything was wonderful except food. If you are a ramen connoisseur, I don't recommend this place at all. My son loves ramen, so I took him there. Because the rating of the restaurant was so high that we were very excited to try Hawaiian ramen....We got there before 6pm without a reservation and it was already crowded. But the front staff squeezed us in with time limit of one hour. Ambience was excellent! The view was amazing! Staff were nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food was not good in our opinion. We have quite a few good ramen restaurants back in our area. Ama's ramen broth was flavorless and almost tasteless. Their noodle didn't match well with their broth style. I ordered Dan Dan Mazemen and it was missing something important so tasted bland and boring. We ordered Bao Buns because many people said it's a must item. It could have been good if the sauce was not that strong. I think their cha siu flavor is so weak that they have to use strong sauce to conceal it. I assume they use the same cha siu for their cha siu ramen which my son ordered. He described it as the most tasteless cha siu ever. We ordered the homemade doughnuts as well. We liked the ice cream part, but doughnuts were mediocre. Over-fried and crunchy.More

This place is a must. The food is delicious!! I got the baos and chicken fried rice dish w/the egg, chicken, etc. It was literally amazing. The view is out of this world too. The super friendly staff made it absolutely 5 stars.

We have eaten here twice recently, once on a very busy evening and once on a slow evening. Both times the service and the food were excellent -- easy-going and good. We enjoyed (too) many drinks; the Hanalei Sour was a stand-out for us. The...wild shrimp skewer is the best shrimp skewer we have had anywhere and the Bao Buns were a perfect blend of meat, veggies, sauce, and bun. The green curry was also one of our favorites, but over the two nights we had almost everything on the menu and we would happily enjoy any of the items again.More

Spending 5 days in Kauai seeing the sites, dining and shopping. We were staying in Lihue, while some friends of ours were staying up north near Hanalei. WE came up to spend the day with them and let them pick the restaurant for the night.... Our friends daughter is a connoisseur of dining and likes to try different cuisines. The location, terrific views and ambiance of the restaurant were great. We were able to get a table before the crowds arrived and quickly ordered some wine and appetizers to start. Kind of relied on our friends daughter to make some suggestions and help explain some of the ingredients. Service was excellent and even though the restaurant was getting crowded, we never felt rushed . Most of my dining companions enjoyed their main meal. Both my buddy and my wife had a spicy dish, which they loved, and actually said that it was very spicy. I loved the appetizers and was ok with my main dish, but so glad I tried something differentMore

I love everything about this place. The view sitting at the mountain facing counter was epic! We shared some Brussel sprouts to start and then we each had ramen bowls. The green curry was a delicious vegetarian dish with enough noodles for me to have...for lunch the following day. My husband didn’t end up with any leftovers....More

I do not know. Most restaurants will allow you to, but charge a hefty corkage fee. Best to check directly with the restaurant.
