After more than 10 years. we again visited Roy's during COVID pandemic. The restaurant has excellent services, and the fish dishes we tried, Butterfish, salmon, Jade pesto steamed were excellent. Salmon and butterfish are particularly outstanding. Highly recommend!

We have always loved Roy's on other islands and was not disappointed in Waikoloa! Because of Covid we only did carry-out, but the food was delicious and the chocolate souffle as amazing as ever (LOVE that raspberry sauce!). Arnie, the manager, greeted us with a...smile each time and worked hard to give us (and everyone) a special, personalized experience.More

Absolutely overpriced Alaskan fish. Terrible service super boring atmosphere freezing, no music, for $400, it was average service, no pepper on our salad, no checking back, wine after we received the meal. Asked about dessert the second the food was placed in front of us....Not what I expected from a Roy’s. Very disappointed. Never againMore

The best meal we had during our week-long stay on Big Island. The ahi tuna and steak dishes were superb. Service is first-rate.

Had a dinner at Roy’s hoping for similar experience we had in Roy’s Honolulu a few years back. Majorly disappointed. The waiter did not know the menu well, bar menu worse. Food was mediocre and one in our party got mildly unwell after that dinner....Not sure if all Roy’s have gone downhill or is it just that location.More

The tuna was perfectly prepared and the salad of local greens was so fresh you swear it was picked that morning. We really enjoyed our meal here. The courses were well paced. The portions are generous, so we split

Our first visit to a Roy's was many years ago, during our honeymoon to Kuai. That experience was fantastic. This most recent experience at the Roy's in Waikoloa? The complete opposite. Below Average in several regards. Namely, no ambience. From the overly lit dining room...and absence of decoration, to the lack of a tablecloth, it just fell short. It did not have that "upscale feel" that it should have had. The food: just OK....Average. No raves at the table, yet no real complaints either. If you can get a reservation at the Canoe House, just a few miles up the road, you'll be grateful that you did.More

Had the mix plate short rib and shrimp. It came out everything but the plate and the shrimp were cold. They took it back and made a new one. It came back a little warmer but wasn’t hot at all. I was so hungry I...just ate it. The short rib was extremely tough to go along with the cold. Obviously this food was made fresh that day. The shrimp were good.More

This is by far the best place we found in the area. There’s a lot of expensive restaurants, but this one, though pricey, is well worth the cost. Their butter fish is absolutely outstanding. It is a black cod from Alaska, but Hawaii does black...cod to perfection. I also had to mahi-mahi which was also delicious. Another person in our group really enjoyed the ahi tuna. Go before sunset for a nice view. This is an older restaurant, but it has stood the test of time. Most dishes can be made gluten free except the obvious ones such as pasta. Just ask. Great service!More

We like the SF , pebble , Kauai locations too .More

Must have made a mistake with one star....we had a delightful evening at the restaurant. It was easy to park and the shopping center had entertainment after dinner. I think we might have had an early bird dinner and the... More
