Napua is located just above the beach in a scenic cove, so the scenery is excellent and breezes are lovely. The food is good, although pricey. The service was not great but after all, it's not the mainland. Be sure to make your reservation way...ahead of time, they book up fast.More

Im hesitant to share the knowledge of this special place for fear that it will get too busy, but these guys deserve it! From the setting to the food, and especially the personal feeling of aloha shared by the staff, this is a go to...for me on a special occasion, and would be a memorable way to cap off a visit to our beautiful island.More

Had an early dinner there, without a reservation. Took some waiting and poking around till I found a hostess, but when I finally ate it was worth the wait. The fish was excellent, as was the entire meal. I gave it 4 stars due to...the initial reaction I had from the staff, not so welcoming.More

I had heard good things about Napua, and was staying nearby. I walked into the restaurant today (at about 12:30) in the hopes of making a reservation. I looked for a hostess, but no on was greeting incoming guests. I poked my head into what...looked like an office, and asked if I could speak to a hostess. A surly woman told me, "There's no hostess. You can sit wherever you want." I said I was interested in making a reservation for sometime during my stay in Hawaii. "We're booked until Sunday," she said. I told her I'd be heading out on Sunday, and she just shrugged. No offer of "May I put you on a waitlist?" or "If you'll leave your name, I'll call you if there's a cancellation." Just surly silence, and this woman didn't even stand up or move from in front of her computer. This is NOT a good impression. For an upscale restaurant, I found this kind of treatment abominable and rude.More

The food was good, not great. The prices were utterly insane. There were good dishes and there were bad dishes (such as the Cauliflower Lavash that had barely any cauliflower on it).

Very good food at an upscale dining restraint overlooking the beach a new ocean. Very good service and atmosphere. Convenient parking as well.

Kind of last minute, but very glad we went there. Very gluten free knowledgeable, no issues, excellent service, menu a little limited, talk to your server if you don’t see what you want. They are very accommodating. Great view, you will spend a lot of...money. But it will be worth it. Trust me on this! 🤙More

We enjoyed a wonderful romantic dinner at Napua on our recent trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. It's COVID-19 time so protection is important. Most of the tables were outside under the covered veranda and they were separated. The view of the ocean is...fabulous with the small crescent of sand and the sound of the waves breaking softly on the shore. It's romantic for sure. The bread to start with was a crostini with soft butter and black salt from Molokai. The food was fabulous all the way around. No misses at all. The service was professional, warm and they know every detail of each dish. We liked it so much that we went back for lunch the next day for another great meal. Note that the gates to the Beach Club only open at 5 pm so you have to walk over from the adjacent resort area, or be a member or guest of the club if coming before 5 pm)More

Thank you to the wonderful staff who fit us in even though I had managed to make a reservation on the wrong day. Lol. Beautiful sunset, calamari is the best, ribs rock. I let my partner eat most of the beatifully delicious desert you gave...him for his 65th birthday celebration. Wonderful memories enjoyed the live music and the ocean sunsetMore

You will not find a view better than this. We have dined here numerous times over the years and this was by far our most disappointing. The fish tacos are my favorite, however, the fish was the same everyday - striped marlin (and were there...for 10 days)! It was ok the first few days but it definitely got old and one day it was just not good (very fishy). We will be back....just because its a great view and we love the beach but they need to step up the "signature" fish tacos.More

Extra bonus with the restaurant is that you often get a very good view over whales that are jumping out of the ocean at late afternoon and sunset.

Yes easy to get to and they have a parking lot right there with a small ramp. I'd say a few days to a week for prime dining ours to make a reservation. And equally priced to most of the other mid-high range restaurants in... More
