As a European this place was quite the surprise! Due to the german chef there's some amazing bratwurst and sauerkraut on the menu, which was absolutely delicious. The service was great, the staff was kind and helpful. You can taste that the chef is having...More

Atmosphere very nice. Food was above average and service was excellent. The set up reminded me of a ski chalet from the NE USA.

This is a great place to warm up and fill up after a day exploring the volcano. We spent all day at Kilauea, had dinner here at the lodge then went back for "Park after dark". Service was great. There was a big group arriving...More

Aloha! I think the all inclusive meals stem from my husband's European background. Some restaurants in the States are now charging for each item... So glad you enjoyed your meal. mahalo Lorna

We actually ate three meals here: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All in all, the food was good, not great. The service was decent, but things needed more than one reminder at all meals. The food came out slowly, however, and this was true for all...More

Hmmm I can't know what slow is unless I have a time. Usually I'm so engrossed in conversation that I don't think about the service being slow...but it isn't a fast food place, for sure. aloha Lorna

My husband jokingly said no puka pants and shirt. Actually we just advise casual elegance (jeans Clean shirt ) a lot of our diners come off the trail so fancy is not required. But honestly we even see fur wraps sometimes

We call it casually elegant. Shorts are fine but please keep in mind that the evenings can get quite cool at our 3700 elevation.

Description
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
