Excellent experience, pricey. Very crowded. Good service for dinner. Breakfast is included with your stay. They were short staffed for breakfast and it did take awhile to get served. But worth the wait.

We stayed at the lodge, so breakfast was included. They're pancakes were so good and their bacon was crispy and not soggy. We ate dinner there twice: ahi, seafood pasta, fresh catch of the day...we were never disappointed and service was always with a smile....More

Great atmosphere but the lunches both my wife and I had were dominated by the amount of bread in relationship to the meat. I had a burger and she had the catch of the day, both were disappointing. The staff is nice and like I...More

Great food and a dramatic view of the Kilauea caldera makes dining at the Kilauea Restaurant an unforgettable experience. Be sure to put your reservations in early particularly during tourist season.

You have written about the Volcano House not Kilauea Lodge. We have a great view too....the Rainforest and orchids in the ferns. But no caldera. aloha Lorna

Aloha. if you stayed in the Hale Maluna rooms (1-4) they are smaller than the Hale Aloha rooms because they are part of the historic YMCA buildings from 1937. The beds are more firm than soft, and it is difficult to... More

My husband jokingly said no puka pants and shirt. Actually we just advise casual elegance (jeans Clean shirt ) a lot of our diners come off the trail so fancy is not required. But honestly we even see fur wraps sometimes

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
