I highly recommend this place to stay while visiting the volcano. Although it requires leaving the park for lodging, it's only a hip, skip, and jump away. Plus your park pass allows you back in for sunset and the next day.. Great breakfast and clean, spacious accommodations. I would bring my own pillow or request a softer, smaller one before... More

We came here both mornings for breakfast even though we were staying somewhere else. We tried the egg scramble with the dill pickles in it, and when I initially asked to have the pickles held I was told no. I am glad that we tried it because it was delicious! Lovely setting inside and out...very cozy and homey.

We ate here during our all day and evening Volcano tour. The service, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful. It was a very relaxing place to eat and visit before going back to see the lava after sunset.

Wanted to stay here but couldn't. But opted to eat dinner and breakfast. Pricey but wonderful old lodge with great ambience and very good food.

Whether or not you stay at Kilauea Lodge, the restaurant is a great place to get breakfast--omelets, pancakes, french toast, oatmeal and more. Great service in a pleasant setting. We liked it so much we went there twice even though we were staying at Volcano House.

The food has been consistently good over a 20 year time frame. The menu is different for Hawaii which make a good change of pace.

When one arrives you may notice a German flag on the exterior and then some German influence on the menu. There was a selection that included game and bratwurst that were delicious, and of course there's an offering of traditional restaurant fare. In addition to the outstanding service, there is a fun selection of cocktails incorporating local Hawaiian fruits. Should... More

Had reservations for myself and am glad I did with it being just minutes from the entrance of VNP. Hostess had the table ready for me and was seated promptly upon arriving. Ordered a fantastic margarita on the rocks with lilikoi salt and had the rack of lamb. Fruit cobbler at the end was the kicker and really hit the... More

Description
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere.

Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
