Little Pahoa town has a natural organic store and hot bar. This self-serve hot bar offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner foods, prepared fresh daily. Although one of the family of "The Natch" health food stores ( In Kailua-Kona, and in Hilo), this one is a...quintessential Puna happening - with great food. The Special entrees include several types of Hawaiian ocean-fresh fish daily, organic chicken dishes and local recipes, such as Kalua turkey and cabbage, Purple Okinawan sweet potatoes in a coconut cream sauce, and Yam lasagna with a white sauce. Two different soups a day, and a salad bar with sandwiches and cold entrees and a plethora of fabulous deserts and juices and smoothies. Sit outside with the locals and join in a lively discussion, all are welcome. Rub elbows with blond-haired, blue-eyed Rastafarians (settling the question of "so this is where they ended up"). Enjoy the great food while being part of this lively, jungle community existing on the Big Island. Bon AppetiteMore

Whenever I am staying in Pahoa, Island Naturals is my choice for healthy grocery shopping. The salad and hot food bar is excellent for a healthy snack, or a great dinner!

Island Naturals has a good selection of organic and non-GMO food items, a decent hot food bar, however it's pricey like most supermarkets in Hawaii. We shop there almost exclusively because of the quality health food.

Although the prices are indeed high at "The Natch" (what the locals call this store), the quality of the food is quite good, there is a superior selection of bulk grains and herbs not available anywhere else nearby and the prepared lunch area has great...stuff (and not all vegetarian!). There's an interesting wine and spirits area offering brands differing from other local vendors and all in all worth a visit. The only caveat is the fresh vegetable area which makes no sense in this part of the world. There are too many farmers' markets around.More

Most people who work there are so rude, prices are way out of line. $20.00 for a whole chicken? Produce is local and priced way too high.

Good to shop there knowing everything is non-GMO. Many organic options, especially fruit and vegetables. Hot food bar and salad bar have fresh and good quality items. Would rate Island Naturals five stars, but giving only 3 because prices there for the very same items...are double the price in other local stores. I only buy what I can't find elsewhere for that reason.More

I love this place- why can’t other grocery stores be like it? The hot food buffet is delicious, with organic/free range/wild caught ingredients. I filled a plate, although not stacked high, and it cost just over $5. The prepared foods looked great, very convenient to...grab and go, I didn’t try the kombucha/smoothie/sandwich made to order area (yet). And very friendly staff. So grateful to have something like this nearby!More

We came here on recommendation from our b&b host who also works here. We found the range good and all organic, fresh, etc. Mixed clientele with hippys at the door but don't let that put you off. we ate from the hot meal cabinet a...few times and generally enjoyed a very ecomonic and tasty menu.More

We stopped in for some beer and snacks. It's a lovely little market (albeit the prices are a bit high, but nothing unexpected for a natural grocery store) with local produce, prepared food, and more. We picked up some yummy chocolate, chips, and local bananas.

This is a local food shopping place for local fruits and vegies and offers a prepared food bar daily that is tastey! Many gluten free choices. Easy parking and take out.
