We stopped here this morning on our way south to do some exploring. We hadn’t heard anything about it but decided to give it a go. We are so happy we did! The coffee is to die for. You can have so many different variations....We ended up ordering some of their speciality lattes, one hot and one cold - wow! We ordered breakfast and it was quick and delicious. The service was great as well, very friendly. We are going back tomorrow for breakfast as well. It is certainly not expensive, much better option than the large hotel resorts where they charge you for the view.More
I’d suggest you hit the road with plenty of snacks. It can get hot, hot, hot real early! The coffee is amazing....don’t miss it! Stopping for treats is a good idea, too! Pack lots of water, water, and more water!! Have fun!!
We stopped here for coffee on our way south the Green Sand beach and were really pleased with the service, and the great coffee. We went back today for a late lunch of fish and chips. The service was first-rate: really friendly, helpful and professional....The fish and chips were fantastic. Very fresh ono that tasted great, super fries, and a great slaw on the side. The atmosphere is very cool - old style building, with a vintage pool table free to use. This a a real gem and not to be missed!More
A couple days ago, my wife and I were traveling to Green Sand Beach early in the morning and stopped in for a coffee and something to eat. I was especially delighted with the cappuccino. Too many people make them like a latte, which I...didn’t want. It was so delicious and breakfast was top notch. The two folks there serving us were warm and friendly and made suggestions for our trip. Mahalo to Misty and Alondra.More
We were on the road by 7am headed for the Volcano from Kona and wanted good coffee (first) and breakfast (second) I had been to Menehune in old Kona and knew their java would not disappoint. We are from Seattle so true to stereotype, a...little particular in that department. The Kona coffee bean reputation is not always matched by the delivery so it’s good to have a go to. Even better was the breakfast-fresh fresh veggie omelette. I even think the eggs were fresher than I am used to. My husband got some burger rice egg gravy thing that I would never eat but he was in breakfast heaven. Eat in or take out. Worth the stop.More
After hiking 4 miles around the Pu’uhonua O Honamanau National Historic Park, we wanted lunch nearby. The super-nice lady at the park gift shop suggested this cafe, just up Hwy. 11. Just pull off the road into one of the parking spots. There are about...8 tables, including a couple near the windows and screen door where you get a lovely fresh breeze. Table service or food to go, plus a bakery counter. Also a pool table! Whatever you order for lunch, be sure to get the Citrus Slaw (shredded red cabbage with a special Hawaiian citrus dressing) and the Sweet Purple Potato Salad. You can purchase bags of 100% Kona Coffee from their affiliated coffee farm just up the road. This cafe was just what we needed to relax and recharge before more touring!More
