This gentleman opened his grocery/bakery/restaurant decades ago and it’s obvious that he has enjoyed meeting and serving people every day. You will find delicious bakery goods, lunch items, souvenirs, some groceries, sundries, and an amazing assortment of jellies and jams. Mr. Ed encourages you to...try several flavors before you make your choice. The jars hold about 8 oz. and will easily fit into your checked luggage. He is also willing to ship your purchase. But even if you don’t buy a thing, this is a really fun stop that is also popular with the locals.More

Great place. Owners are really nice. They even ate breakfast with us and told us about the island. Highly recommend.

The Guava Bearclaws are wonderful, and the owner and his wife are charming. Also, try the Kona Coffee cookies - they were a delicious lifesaver in the Volcanoes National Park.

We stopped by to get some shave ice and some bakery items. Cute shop and friendly owners, but he didn't wear a mask while making our shave ice.

Meet Ed and his lovely wife to experience the real local flavor of Honomu. It feel like an old general store, but with the focus fun local baked bakery treasures, breakfasts or lunches, as well as a huge selection of preserves and jams made from...local fruits by Ed. The owners are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. You'll have to stop by when you visit Akaka Falls and sample some of the jams.More

Stopped after a visit to Akaka Falls. It was mid-day so they were low on the pastries but we picked up some Paniolo Cookies and I have been dreaming about them ever since. Crunchy and sweet - but not too sweet - these were the...best cookies ever. Also picked up one jar of preserves - Strawberry & Pineapple - I so wish I picked up more for myself and to give to others. Fabulous. Will make this a stop whenever we go back to the islandMore

Stopped by here on our way to Akaka Falls, I got a Pina Colada shave ice with the cream topping, and not only was it the cheapest I had seen at about $4, but it was really big and tasted amazing! The store owners are...very nice and they make all the bakery and canned items themselves, which I did not get to try but those I was with said they were very good. I'm glad I stopped in this cute shop, and I will come again next time I'm traveling in the area!More

Wonderful baked goods of all kinds! No, don’t Mr. Ed (former teacher) with the TV references, he’s heard em all “Wilbur”!

My family and I had great pastries from Mr. Ed’s Bakery. The turnovers were delicious, but a tad stale. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Mr. Ed's Bakery does ship and can give you a list of the jellies he serves. A very charming place and a nice time spent visiting with the owner. You can call him at 808-963-5000.
