Despite the small size of the restaurant, we were able to secure a reservation. We had the curry, coconut lemon grass soup with shrimp, and beef salad appetizer. All were delectable, but be warned that the soup is designed to serve an entire table (hence...the absence of a price on the menu). The mixed drinks were both exotic and excellent. The price was typical for Thai restaurants.More
We came to this restaurant because it was recommended by a local. We were excited to have a delicious Thai meal. Needless to say, we were extremely underwhelmed. We ordered the summer rolls, dumplings, pad Thai, and pad se ew. The summer rolls arrived less...than two minutes after the waitress took our order. The "peanut sauce" was just chunky peanut butter instead of a sauce. The dumplings, which were an appetizer, came out at the same time as the entrees. The portions were HUGE and could have fed 2-3 people, but the waitress didn't say anything when we ordered. The pad Thai tasted nothing like a traditional pad Thai, and the pad se ew was very salty. The vegetables were obviously frozen. Will not be visiting again.More
Everything on the menu looks yummy....
The very fresh Summer Rolls are a meal alone, with Chicken Satay and some
extra Ginger stir fry, you'll have a wonderful meal and a delightful time.
Walking through Kalakaua park towards the WWII memorial we spoted the New Chiang Mai restaurant behind the lily pond. As it was early to eat, we came back in the evening for dinner.
This is a pleasent little place located on a side street, serving...basic Northern Thai dishes made from locally grown vegetables and fresh caught fish. A little off the tourist area so there is a good chance of getting a seat without making a reservation. We looked at the interesting wall decorations, while waiting to place our order, our servicer was efficient and always smiling. We ordered summer rolls, mixed sea food salad, panang curry and green papaya salad.
Would definitely come back if ever we are in Hilo again.
TIP: Also if you are a Vegetarian, Vegan, or want Gluten free they have dishes for you.More
We had the fried vegetables, red curry beef, beef in peanut sauce and stir-fried chicken and eggplant. All where very good and recommend You try your favorite dish you won't be disappointed. This is our new go to Thai place...
Our first dinner option fell through and we were hungry so we stayed in the area and came upon this place. I love thai food so i was ok with trying it elsewhere. They even had a usual dish that i like so of course...i had to try it here too. Did not disappoint. Great portions. I do wish the rice was not an extra charge, as it usually isnt in most restaurants...especially in Hawaii, but other than that, we enjoyed our meal. Pad Ka Prao in pork with jasmine rice...mmmmmm.More
