Going to cronies is a bit like pulling on that old comfortable sweater you immediately feel relaxed and at ease. The staff are warm and friendly and attentive at just the right level. The service is fast and efficient The food hits the spot Been...in for lunch recently a couple of times. The socially distanced tables made it look a bit sparse but didn’t affect the vibe it was still cheerful joyful even.More

Visited on a trip to big island, it's a dive bar, I don't usually expect much from dive bars but I have to say this place was great, the staff were not very friendly but the service was good and the food, while not up...to 5 star quality, was perfectly acceptableMore

I really do love Cronies' burgers. Way better flavor than Burger joint or Ponds IMO. Ordered a double works burger to go. Got home and there were no mushrooms or sprouts. Such a bummer! Also, they raised their prices. A double works burger is now...just shy $25 with NO side. I ordered by phone, the guy who took my order failed to say that side fries are not included with burgers anymore, and also didn't tell me my total. After I paid and left I was puzzled of how I blew $30 on a burger. Went online and found their new menu with the new prices... A burger joint should def not charge for a small side of fries when you're already buying a pricey burger.More

We tipped her good cause the one that passed us off was thinking their having a...beer n apps n wont get a good tip. Wrong move. We might fo back for lunch today to try other food.More

Made a reservation, which, it turned out, was totally unnecessary. The place was virtually empty when I walked in. I sat myself at the bar (where I’d made my rsvp) but took the bartender a couple minutes to realize I was there. Looking over the...tap beers I asked for a taste of the hoppiest IPA she had. It was a local Kona brew (don’t remember the name) that was excellent. Ultimately decided to keep my meal basic (and decidedly un-Hawaiian): Their cheeseburger with a side of Onion Rings. The burger was huge – at least a third pound, cooked – and was done just the way I like it. The sweet Hawaiin bun added to the flavor. It really was delicious. Unfortunately, the kitchen sent out French fries instead of the rings I’d ordered. That was remedied very quickly and I soon had my Onion Rings, which were also very good (crips and tender). The food was very good, and the bartender did take good care of me. I’m not sure I’d go back – perhaps it was just a very slow night, but the atmosphere was nothing to talk about.More

Surprisingly decent food for a sports bar. Plenty of room, lots of TV’s and good beers on tap. Just what a sports bar should be. Super Bowl LIV was fun there!

Come here for quick cheap eats. No reservation needed. The staff is friendly, but it took us a while to get our beers.

I’m disappointed. We used to go to Cronies often. Great burgers and fries, fish sandwiches and my personal favorite the Chinese chicken salad. Well on our last (and I mean LAST) visit fries no longer come with the burger or sandwich—it is an extra and...the worst part is they totally changed the Chinese chicken salad dressing to a thick gloppy one that doesn’t spread over the salad and tastes awful. I asked if i could get the old dressing and they said no. Then i asked for more as what they gave didn’t disperse at all... extra charge! Well, you can’t nickel and dime the customer without some of them, like me, getting angry. I will not be going back unless i hear they have made some changes.More

We came over to Hilo for an ATV trip and one of the suggested dining spots our van driver, Julie, suggested was Cronies for their burgers. After doing a few other things around Hilo after our afternoon ATV reservation we went back to the downtown...area for dinner and after stopping by a couple of other places where the wait was over an hour we ended up going to Cronies. As expected from our talk with Julie, this is basically a sports bar with a restaurant, but she had stated that the burgers were really good. Since Cronies is on the corner we ended up parking in a road/alley nearby that had parking spots, was less than a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. We were seated fairly quickly, but the service was a bit lacking. We were going to order the crab cakes as an appetizer, but our server never mentioned they were out until we were starting to order, she then also mentioned that they were also out of Pulehu New York steak app and were going to be discontinuing it. I'm usually not a stickler for things like this, but being out of items is something you usually mention when you hand out the menus. I ended up ordering the swiss & mushroom burger, ordering it medium so a bit of pink. Food took quite some time to come out, for 4 people, and when I got my burger it was well done. Being hungry I just ate it, but for a place that was supposed to have good burgers I would have expected them to be able to cook them to order. The rest of my group's food was okay, nothing to write home about either way, but after the recommendation the actual experience was rather lack luster.More

We do not have the NHL package, but we do have the NHL network channel. We also show West Coast NHL teams playing on Fox sports or Comcast networks.
