This restaurant offers the largest servings of any I have seen yet on the island. Your breakfast order comes with pancakes or toast. These pancakes are a meal unto themselves, and then comes your order. I had Chicken Fried Steak, prepared just the way I like it,  breading not thick with tender meat. Maybe this is why many in the... More

This place had great food at a reasonable price. I had the local beef stew which was just awesome. Large portions and moderate price. My wife had the saimin and my niece had short ribs both couldn't finish and really enjoyed their meals. Also you must try the lilikoi pie. Awesome. I wish I had brought a whole pie. If... More

Place was recommended by a neighbor. We went for breakfast. Pancakes were huge but were just ok. We love corned beef hash but it turned out to be canned. You need to be aware there is a $3.95 charge per person if you share anything. The rest of the food was just ok.

Awesome food, huge plates come hungry! The Korean pork is amazing, but the Mok a sauras is what really kills it. Anyone visiting Hilo should definitely check this place out.

This is the best local food we had on the island. Close to airport and downtown. 30 minute wait and lots of locals. Very reasonable pricing and large portions. The Hawaiian platter was wonderful. The Korean ribs were not as good. We did not order the super sized pancakes (almost all locals ordered them) Unfortunately they dont open in the... More

When in Hawaii, eat as the locals do - and we were very happy we arrived right at opening. Within 15 minutes, the entire place was filled! My husband had breakfast, and I had the Korean plate. Both were HUGE portions of EXCELLENT food. Just GO. We certainly will the next time we're in Hilo!!

The portions are huge. The menu offered so many choices. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our favorites today: Pulehu Lamb Ribs, Club Sandwich, and Fried Noodles. The kids loved their milkshakes and French Fries.

I saw the reviews of this restaurant and knew we had to try it while in Hilo. The reviews do not do this place justice. The prices are regular restaurant prices, not the over-inflated tourist prices you find all over the island. The portions are enormous and very difficult to eat in one..or even two sittings. Which means you will... More

My partner and I have been to the Hawaiian Style Cafe about 6 times now and every time it is a delicious filling treat. Our favorite so far is the three egg omelette meal with pancakes and hashbrowns. We also like the French toast and the fried rice side dish. We always have food left over to take for lunch.... More

We were here for a late lunch, which turned out to be just before their closing time (2 pm). The place was full, so it was a good sign, we thought. We are not interested in big portions, but rather want quality food at a reasonable price. The prices were good, and the portions were huge, but they didn't rate... More
