We arrived at approximately 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night. We walked in and there were exactly 4 customers inside. Granted it is a small space, but as soon as we walked in the chef/owner looked at us and told us he couldn't accommodate us...More

This hole in the wall, 13 sea sushi restaurant has good sushi and little to no atmosphere. They didn't answer the phone for reservations, and made me wait 45 minutes even though there was an empty table. But the food was high quality at very...More
We ordered six items; shrimp tempura roll, spider roll, volcano roll, shrimp and scallop dynamite doria (sp?), orange sherbet roll, and sake-para roll. Everything was great. Service was quick and courteous. The dynamite sauce was particularly brilliant.
The place has a very cozy atmosphere, perfect for groups of two. We had the hawaiian, the rainbow and the yellow submarine roll. All of them were well balanced in their taste and simply delicious. The green ice with the sweet bean paste is also...More

10 out of 10 for everything, only wish they had more tables because it's always packed! The mIso was described by our chef friend as 'mother's milk'. The sushi is lovingly crafted by a master, the service is outstanding.
We have been visiting the Sushi Bar Hime for 2 years now. Every meal has been excellent. The couple who run this sushi bar are friendly and capable. The small, downtown Hilo site is convenient and has it's charms. We will happily go again....and again.
