You could not find better pork chops anywhere , I rate all pork chops I've ever eaten against Managos. This is a family style restaurant that's been in business for over 80 years. It is a local favorite with very friendly staff

They serve side dishes family-style: Asian seaweed salad, macaroni-potato salad, canned corn, etc. You order a main course off the board. There are several different types of island fish, nicely-sauteed. House specialty: pork chops smothered in brown onion gravy. Comfort food. We ate here a couple of times. Prices are cheap by Big Island standards.

The hotel was nice and clean. It was a "no frills" hotel, meaning no tv and no air conditioning, but the windows have louvres and get a nice breeze. It is a perfect location and a beautiful view of the ocean. I would stay here again. It is convenient to Kona.

We stayed at the Manago Hotel for the first night of our vacation. It was close to our kayak/snorkeling excursion the next morning (If interested, book with Michael of Adventures in Paradise...well worth the interesting facts and safety of the trip.). The Hotel was convenient and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant... More

Kind of hole in the wall restaurant in back of hotel lobby, stay to the right, seat your self, menu is on the wall. A lot of the locals eat here, due to the great food at very reasonable prices. Better be hungry because you get big portions of food. The service is great, I will return on my next... More

Great lunch (call ahead if you have a group), great feel to the place. Close to Captain Cook Town, Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Park, and snorkeling. They only serve during meal hours, so plan ahead. It is a good location to catch lunch after an early morning snorkeling trip to either of the beaches close to the Park.

First trip in 1989 and had to return. Clean, basic family run hotel stuck in time. Wonderful every time. Food, great local home cooking. Pork chops and fresh fish a must.

The Manago Hotel restaurant holds the distinction of being the oldest restaurant in the State of Hawaii in continuous operation. For those who have tried the pork chops, it's easy to see why. Heck, I don't even like pork chops but this is the rare exception. The food here is simple with a menu contained within one page. In addition... More

My friend recommended this place to me and glad that I had dinner here before leaving for mainland.  This hotel/restaurant brings you back to the past.  We loved the TV room - you can picture how the hotel/restaurant evolved thru time and how people had enjoyed this place - staying or eating here.  I ordered the large pork chops with...
