Reviewed yesterday NEW

Came for lunch and had a spectacular burger. The waitress was friendly and attentive to our group. The new owner came by and visited also, he explained some of his ideas and wanted some feedback on how he can improve everything. And the pie, had the coconut cream pie and it was perfect. Great density and flavor, I could have... More

Lol... There is a good place to meet friends and have a good meal in Dayton. You are reading it's review. Stop in and try a meal or a slice of pie... better yet have both. Enjoy.

On your way to/from Yellowstone, stop here for a wonderful surprise - delicious home-cooked food. There are not many good restaurants in the Buffalo, Dayton, Ranchester, Sheridan area. We stayed in Sheridan 8 months and this was the best place we found. Their salad bar (they are about the only place in this vicinity offering a salad bar) isn't huge,... More

I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was real good- the bacon was crispy and the bun was toasted almost enough. The sweet potato fries were good too. Nice art on the walls, too 😊.

I've ate there for dinner and breakfast. There burgers are a very good size with a heaping portion of hand cut fries. Good price and nice local atmosphere and setting. On Sunday mornings they have a breakfast buffet for about $9 and it is very good. Everything you can think of and it's delicious. Great bang for your buck. I... More

Great little local cafe! I had a wonderful grilled cheese sandwich and sweet potato fries with powered sugar. The portions were large so come hungry! Looks like they had some yummy cinnamon rolls and desserts...I was too full to try them. My husband had a huckleberry shake...I tried it..yum! They also had a salad bar.

I ordered cheeseburgers to go for our construction crew, and they were hot and delicious. Lots of choices for fries.

My wife and I visited yesterday as we were passing through (we'd seen the sign for the Dayton mercantile - which was closed). The welcome at The Branding Iron was great and being English and needing a cup of tea the waitress did all she could to help - and a fine cuppa it was too, alongside a very fine... More

While visiting in Dayton recently, we ate here a couple times. The supper fare was good, although a bit pricey --yummy homemade fries, chicken strips, burgers. We also had the breakfast buffet, which at $8 (included coffee) was a good deal although the eggs didn't really taste like much, pretty tough sausage patties, good hash browns. My husband liked the... More

We were a group of 8 bikes/couples from Tennessee on a Black Hills vacation. On the return trip from Red Lodge MT to Deadwood SD we stopped for gas in Dayton and noticed this restaurant. With everyone being hungry and we like to do local places when on a bike trip, we agreed to try the Branding Iron. Soooo... glad... More
