Fellow Vegetarians don't be turned off by the name! Went here for a family outing with a dozen people for dinner. We originally planned on eating a MooseJaw across the street but the wait was 90mins long so we headed over here instead. Got seated right away, had cold beers (Spotted Cow!) and food soon afterward. I ordered the veggie... More

While we are known for our brats and other German food items, we do make a killer veggie burger. Maybe it's the fact my Wife (is that supposed to be capitalized or not) doesn't eat meat! Glad you enjoyed it and please stop back in to the Brat House Grill anytime! More

If you are a tourist in Wisconsin, you might as well immerse yourself in the local cuisine. You can't escape the many variations on cheese, but you should also take advantage of the long tradition of German cooking in the state. The Wisconsin Dells are far from a culinary destination, but, if you are in the mood for sausages, the... More

I had the double bacon brat burger. AMAZING! Such good flavor, who decided to make a patty out of brats??? Pretty empty, good prices for both dinner and drinks. I recommend it highly! Much better than a regular burger or brat. My buddy had the jalapeño brat and it had weird salsa from a can or something similar. Not recommend... More

Thanks for stopping by the Brat House for your dinner. We do offer a number of "smothered" brats but all of them are available plain as well. We wish your buddy had enjoyed his brat more, but with so many to try hopefully you'll come back real soon for some other different sausages. Thanks again for the review! More

No trip to the Dells is complete until you grab a brat and homemade chips at the Brat House Grill. Pick your favorite brat and fixings - and if you're not in the mood for a brat? There's a lot of other tasty options and specials.

After a long day at Noah's Ark Water Park, our family of five chose Brat House Grill for dinner. We sat outside on the patio and ordered three main courses to share and a few sides. The brat sampler was yummy! The children loved the meatloaf and potatoes and I thought the bacon brat burger was the best!! So much... More

This was our first stop on our Dells trip and can say that the food was good nothing special. The bar seating is ok- dark and manly. I think I was waiting for something better being that it was a brat house. It was also pricy, I couldn't understand why but we were on vacation! Might go back.

Description
Originally constructed in 1850, the Delton Academy was a one room Baptist Boys Schoolhouse. In 1865, it became the Delton Methodist Church. In 1894, the church was expanded and the entryway and side room additions were built. What was originally the entrance was replaced with the G.A.R. stained glass window and the bell tower was added. During this period it was also used as the G.A.R. Hall. The Grand Army of the Republic was the Civil War version of the V.F.W. for the Union army. In 1868, General Order #11 of the G.A.R. called for May 30th to be designated as the day of memorial for Union veterans; originally called "Decoration Day", it later evolved into the U.S. national Memorial Day holiday. The G.A.R. was also active in pension legislation, establishing retirement homes for soldiers, and many other areas which concerned Union veterans. The influence of the G.A.R. led to the creation of the Old Soldiers' Homes of the late 19th century, which evolved into the current United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The back room, bathroom and kitchen addition was added sometime in the 1950's. In the 1970's, the building was then purchased by a group of local residents and it became the Old Delton Academy Antique Mall. In the spring of 2007, the building underwent a revamping and became what it is today; the oldest public building in southwest Wisconsin and home of the Brat House Grill. The building still retains it's original wood floor, wainscoting and window frames. It's remarkable what great shape the building is in after it's extensive and varied history.
