I have been going to Matsuya since the day it opened. The service has occasionally been up and down but the food never falters. The moist important and distinguishing factor of Matsuya that truly propels it over all others is the rice, the rice, the rice. Each grain of rice is distinguishable from each other, not mushy not overly glutinous.... More

Being from Maine, I thought it was a bit of a risk to expect great sushi in central Wisconsin. Was I ever wrong! The sushi here is absolutely delicious and with a large extensive menu. We have been here several times whenever business takes us to that area and it never disappoints - great food, great service, great area. Two... More

Stopped for lunch and ordered a favorite roll as well as a roll of the day. The Godzilla was excellent! The Torpedo Roll was even better! Wish we had room to sample more!

The best sushi!! Love the index cards to choose something different that's not on the menu. Ask your waiter/waitress for the index cards to browse through the the many options. The Polar Bear and Christmas in July are favorites!

Fantastic! We were here about a year ago while passing through Stevens Point. We were in the area so we stopped again. We had some food restrictions we had to follow and the waitress was very helpful. We had the Godzilla, Soldier and a Crunchy California and Shrimp Tempura. All we delicious and served quickly.

We ate here the first night in Stevens point, on a weeklong stay here to take care of my wife's 102 year old grandfather. This was a good way to start the week, the sushi was very good. I had the eel bowl, and a very delicious sake from Momokawa. I don't do to well being away from sushi for... More

For all of the curious people out there that are apprehensive of sushi......think this no more. There is such a variety of hot and cold sushi options with cooked seafood and raw. The sauces, the variety really are impressive. Be sure to ask for the sushi menu that has their specialties.......you will not go wrong! Try a little sake.....a glass... More

My first Sushi experience and still the best. Ask about special items not offered on the menu. Service is slow, they seem understaffed but it is friendly and the food is excellent!

Matsu Ya prepares and serves incredible Sushi. We have yet to find a comparable place in Wisconsin. Their monthly specials are always a treat. Some of our standard menu favorites are the Dragon Roll and the Scary Spice roll. If you ever have questions or need suggestions, feel free to ask the knowledgeable and friendly staff.

It is not often that one visits an eatery 3 times in a week but that was what we did last week when we ate in Matsu Ya Grill & Sushi. On Tuesday, we invited a good friend to have dinner there. Four days later, our grand niece and her husband treated us to dinner at Matsu Ya. Finally, on... More
