I had the opportunity to dine at Kegel's, and it was one of the best German meals that I've ever had. This classic restaurant is a throwback to better times, with traditional German decor and hospitality. The small bar is welcoming, and the staff makes...More

Don't expect a quiet, leisurely meal at Kegel's. Waitresses go at a frenetic pace and with many people crammed into one big old room, the atmosphere is busy and loud. The food here is also old world. This is not a place where you will...More

Being an ethnic German I have traveled and visited many German Restaurants across the USA & Germany. Kegel's is by far the best and could compete with Oma's Kitchen any day! All the meals were Excellent and served at the perfect eating temperature. Our server...More

The food was good but I was expecting a little bit better. I ordered the pork shank and it was a massive serving so I split it with somebody. The side dishes were good but the soup was excellent. It was not the best German...More

Wonderful atmosphere and traditional German food from great-grandma Kegel's recipe trove. The owners are young and the newest Kegel family generation. They infuse vitality and love. Great fish fry too!

Better then average food with an old traditional atmosphere. If you're looking for the now trendy yuppie type foodie restaurant, please go somewhere else as this place can be crowded enough. The wait staff we had was courteous and very efficient. Our food orders were...More

A group of us went for the fish fry recently. If we wanted to show visiting guests an old, Milwaukee location with German flare and traditional food, I think we'd go back; for a fish fry some week, I doubt it. The website is very...More

We had a "Memorial Luncheon" here today. Service was absolutely excellent, food was scrumptious, prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Fourteen adults in our group and every single person was very happy with their meal! I would highly recommend Kegel's Inn...More

I've only been to Kegels on Friday's when it is noisy. Might be better on a Saturday. I heard that the duck is wonderful.

Definitely. I was there for lunch and it wasn't busy, but all reviews say it's tough to get in for dinner -especially on Fridays. Above average food but not the best value, in my opinion.

Located in the heart of Milwaukee's West Allis neighborhood, Kegel's Inn serves up the most authentic German fare in the area. Inside you'll find a warm atmosphere, friendly service and one of the most beautiful beer halls in the country. With incredible murals, leaded glass, and heavy wooden beams, one can almost hear rounds of "Du Bist Mein Herzen" reverberating in the Bierstube. Since 1924, Kegel's Inn has been the locals' go-to destination for authentic German cuisine and continues to top the charts as one of the best places to catch a Friday Fish Fry in Milwaukee.
At Kegel's Inn, everything is made from time honored traditional recipes. Like the rest of our establishment, things haven't changed much since we first opened our doors in 1924. Sure, there may be some new faces, but our steadfast commitment to our customers and our family values keeps our atmosphere warm and inviting, our service fast and neighborly, and our delicious food in accordance to the highest standards of our family lineage. At the end of the day, our goal is that your experience gets better every time you come in. Danke Schön!
