This is an excellent restaurant that usually requires reservations but always allows walk-ins in the bar area which has tables. I'm pretty sure it's the same menu and the bar area was quite nice. The food here is upscale and good.

We had read that they had vegetarian options here. Not true!!! They had two appetizers and one main dish— $.50 worth of left over reheated (not fresh at all) grains for $28.00!! Tasted like rice-aroni. We asked about getting gnocchi or spaghetti without the ham...More

We took our oldest son and his fiancé to one of our favorite Door County restaurants to celebrate their engagement. This renovated county house retains the charm and history of a country manor but with a genuine infusion of "cool". From the creative and artsy...More

The service is very good, the setting is lovely. The food however did not live up to the hype. It was good, but just not special. I felt slightly let down by the over-exuberant reviews that I had read. I understand food, flavors and spicing...More

After a day spent driving we went in very casual clothes. We felt pretty out of place... would probably recommend dressing up a bit more than shorts and tee shirts.

Wickman House is located in a historic lodge in Ellison Bay, Door County. Offering sandwiches from Paying tribute to the property's original owners and namesake, this historical landmark was reborn as Wickman House in 2012. The renovation and design of the property are dedicated to restoring its history with an eclectic blend of original decor from the early 1920's. Also true to the property's original purpose: the restaurant's focus is on sustainable agriculture, featuring a menu inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and gardens. Finally, the property's enhanced space strives to be a true gathering place, much like The Ellison Bay Lodge was nearly a century ago. The proprietors, chefs, and staff at Wickman House strive to provide their guests with the ultimate dining experience through professional service and the use of only fresh, sustainable foods. All seafood is humanely harvested and sustainably considered. Nearly all ingredients not arriving from the sea come from local Wisconsin farms, artisans, and growers. All baked goods, desserts, sauces, stocks, and soups are made in house from scratch, just the way the Wickman Family would have wanted.
