We were traveling by RV from Vardø to Kirkenes and found out by coincidence that King Crabs are being served here! Reservation by phone was friendly and welcoming. The location is easy to find and somewhat typical for Norway. We did find the furniture and the water tank with the live Kong Crabs beautiful and befitting a crustacean-lover‘s heaven.
We had the King Crab main course, the Rain Deere Shank and Pavlova as desert. The beer selection was magnificent, we had our favorite Mack Pilsener which was well-chilled and poured into beautiful glass jars. The King Crabs were by far THE BEST we have had during our two months in Norway! They were served hot and beautifully arranged (see picture). Mayo and Mango Chutney were home made and very tasty. The Rain Deere Shank was OUT OF THIS WOLRD as well! The meat was super tender and fell off the bone. Mashed potatoes well seasoned adm creamy. The desert was a nice finish with the whole thing lighter than anticipated. The baisee provided a nice balance to the whipped cream and fruit as it had a little salt added into it.
All in all a fantastic experience, will return soon! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, we felt very welcome!

Boat trip with company. Turned out to be the best dinner I ever had in the world, Barcelona, Miami, London, Oslo, Rykjavik, Cairo, Rome, Nice none can compare with this. Starter menu was a King Crab salad with mango chutney and it was perfect. Enough to give you a good taste but still wanting more. Main course was the most tender raindeer beef with oath prorrige and some veggies. It was Soo incredible I can't say any meat I ever had was this perfectly coocked. Would have given it 15/10 stars if I could. Dessert was a really good creme brulee. Also 100% correctly done. Area is interestingly decorated, and not tacky. Toilets where very fresh, even had free accessories for women. And changing room for babies. There is not a single thing I can complain about. And I'm pretty good at complaining. 100% recommend! All located in a charming quiet little fishing village one the beautiful Varanger fjord.

We went for a day in Bugøynes to see old architecture and stumbled at this bistro. Took a starter(photo), dessert and wine. Food was delicious and amazing. Definitely a place to try Finnmarks taste, hard to imagine to be dissatisfied and disappointed in this bistro. You might need to wait for a seating tho, we where there on Friday during lunch time. Place was packed before us and when we left people where waiting in line outdoor area was full. Prices are more like big city categories. My starter costs 235- or about 20ish €.

Very disappointing, has good reviews but.
Food very expensive, small servings.
Seafood soup tasted like it was from a packet with a few bits of fish in it.
Service was poor and staff were slack. Owner rolled in with a bag of crabs and took your money.
Beautiful town, find somewhere else to eat if you can.

One of our excursions when we stayed with Aurora Holiday in Utsjoki was the King Crab Safari at Bugoynes. We were met by Tor Oscar, our guide for the tour and after being kitted out in our flotation suits we set off on the RIB boat. We learnt many interesting facts about the crabs and also about the history of Burgoynes, a beautiful and peaceful little village. After catching the crabs we returned to Burgoynes Bistro where we feasted on delicious, freshly cooked crab in the cosy and friendly restaurant. Thank you Tor Oscar for a very enjoyable experience.

We didn't really know what to expect when we booked the king crab safari and were absolutely amazed. Trond and his son took us out with a small boat. Warm clothes were provided. We went to two crab traps and emptied them. We learned a lot about life in Bugoynes, the king crabs, including how to kill and prepare them. Of course we had time to take some pictures with the crabs as well. After 1-1,5h we went back to the restaurant where the same crabs got prepared for us and served as dinner. Trond and his family were very polite and perfect hosts. Buygones itsels is worth a trip as well since it is very picturesque.

Awful! We came there with the company. I can’t rule out the possibility that the DREADFUL food was a result of us being a group of 35. Either way… they served us a buffet, All options were awful, leaving me hungry and buying some additional food in the hotel when we returned to Kirkenes. I observe that many of you offer a five star. Mayne it is good when you choose a la carte. In a group, however, it’s a disaster! Avoid it!

On our little trip from Tønsberg to Kirkenes the food ride fell to Bugøynes. After a small tour of the village, the stomach was calmed by a delicious experience at the Bistro.
Owners, service and food of the highest class made us consider moving to Bugøynes.
Thanks for a warm moment👏👏
Hilsen Geir og Wenche

We left from southern Finland for the long-awaited adventure to Pykeija. We expected to get food that leaves us speechless. It's a pity that none of the three food portions were like that 🫣 The king crab portion was also expected to have some potatoes as a side dish, because it didn't make me hungry on its own. The cod dish was otherwise ok, but the potatoes could have been peeled and instead of the pea stew and carrots, fresh salad or grated carrots.

A group of eight came to buyognes for a king crab safari. It is run by an old man and his son. Thankful to the owner for the detailed information and his helpfulness. This is definitely an unforgettable experience to me and my children. We highly appreciate their one-stop service with the transfer, king crab safari and the food. They have given us more than just the delicious crabs, but also Marine life’s protection and the virtues of Norwegian people. My kids were happy seeing wild seals and they picked up the floating wood in the sea.
