Have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. They serve a great breakfast and just had a fish fry there and I had the smelt, which was a AUCE, but one serving was all I could eat.

The owner was right there when we were greeted on a Sunday afternoon. I am assuming it was his wife who was our waitress. We all had a burger of some sort (bacon burger, or cheeseburger) except for my husband who did their buffet. It was all good, most of the buffet food was homemade and either the mashed potatoes... This was our first visit to the Village Lantern in Cecil, WI. Four of us went for lunch on the 4th of July. My husband had a hamburger with fried onions and home made potato chips. He said they were both delicious. Their Chef Salads were very good also. We definitely will go back again when we go through Cecil... More

You get your choice of potato ( we get French fries and baked) cole slaw and delicious soft fresh rye bread. They get... More

It certainly isn't fancy but the food is good, although plain. They have specials posted but we were not informed of them, guess you just... More

Great service at this family-run restaurant. We stopped while driving through. The food was good and fresh and basic fare. The place was charming as the people in it.
