The Dirtbean was recommended to us for lunch. It was described as great smoothies and quesadillas, pizza, really sounded yummy. And it was! I had roasted red pepper soup and a house salad. Really good. But the staff was so unfriendly it was a little uncomfortable. It's worth a visit for good food. Maybe you can get them to smile!... More

Thank you for the review. I am happy to hear your food was good. As far as unfriendly staff, it happens, unfortunately, especially with a busy week, short handed, equipment issues and the like. As of late, these have been a few challenges. Keeping a smile at all times is difficult at times. I do not say this as an... More

On a trip taking a friend down to Old Droop Church Cemetery we stopped at the Visitor Center in Marlinton and were referred to the Dirtbean Cafe and Bike Shop for lunch. A marvelous lunch, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. What more could you ask for? Even as a vegetarian the options made for some debate before I settled on... More

In for the road kill fest. My wife got the beef dip sandwich. Came on a ciabatta roll, lots of meat with a tasty au jus. Salsa was tangy with a touch of good bitter. 4 instead instead of 5 cause they only had one pale ale! (My lunch)

Thank you for the good words. Roadkill cook off is a great time of year and often way busy for my small kitchen and few staff. I tend to worry about getting things out timely and to satisfaction on weekends like Roadkill. Thank you. Sorry about the IPA. We typically carry the Devil Anse from Greenbrier Valley Brewing but it's... More

$2.50 for two slices of toast? It must have been sprinkled with gold dust and I didn't know it. Too rich for my blood.

Great coffee, nice staff, and good things to eat if you're passing through on your bike on the GR Trail. Nice atmosphere. Had an excellent brownie--pricey, but worth it. Bike shop in the back but didn't seem open.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Our bike shop is "open" during our business hours but due to lack of climate control in the bike shop we keep the barn door closed if AC or heat is on. We will work to improve this. More

First off let me say the food was very good. However, there were two ladies working and one had a very poor attitude toward the customers. She might have been having a bad day, we all do, but upon hearing our dinner order she muttered some profanity as she threw a napkin over her own dinner. I told her that... More

The Dirtbean is our trail stop in Marlinton. We typically stop for a relaxing cup of coffee and sometimes a lite lunch. The salads are always very good and you can add meat for a small charge. We look forward to an evening stop sometime in the future ... The beer selections are interesting.
