We were in town for only one night and even though our hotel’s staff tried very hard to convince us to go somewhere else for dinner I had already made my mind up that were eating at Bluegrass Kitchen. I am so happy that I...More

I really want to like this place and support the local ownership but I just can't find anything on the menu that's edible. Please look closely at the menu before going because there's a lot of strange items. Yes I'm picky but I can almost...More

A local resident recommended the Bluegrass Kitchen, and we were glad we followed his advice. I had wonderful, crispy fish and some of the best fries I've ever tasted. The only drawbacks were the noise that made it hard to converse with my hearing-aid-wearing husband...More

This eclectic mix of local foods with local art, and of course live music is a great choice any night of the week! I enjoyed the meatloaf, green beans and mashed cauliflower. Just to add a twist the tangy “gravy” was a sauce of fried...More

This was recommended to us by someone at the airport as a place to go for brunch. I had my two boys with me. It was disappointing they did not have pancakes on the menu. We survived. But in general the menu was fairly small...More

When I travel, I like to eat locally. This farm to table, vegan friendly restaurant with a WV flavor perfectly fit the bill. The space is open, with a bar up front, with music, and a colorfully decorated dining room. I shared a divan with...More

We went to this restaurant at 5 pm when it opened. I do not know about the neighborhood after dark, but it was fine when we were there. Loved the menu and the server and owner were both very friendly and helpful. Cute décor in...More

The only place is Bluegrass Kitchen, at least that where Mark Zuckerberg and his wife ate in September....and I can understand why. The Trout and Grits was tasty but they were sold out of their famous burger! Fish and chips was plentiful and delicious with...More

We showed up here pretty late for dinner - approaching 9pm. We got lucky and found this place after a day on the interstate heading towards Kentucky. The beer selection was excellent, and the food was top notch. My girlfriend had chicken and dumpling soup,...More

This place serves pretty good food but is fairly expensive in an area with much more modest prices. While the wait staff is friendly, it seems they go overboard with the piercings, tattoos, off beat clothes, etc. But the food is good. It gets a...More

Description
Charleston's authentic farm-to-table made-from-scratch modern comfort food restaurant. With a legion of chefs who caringly practice the art of food, BgK offers delicious brunch, dinner, and desserts for hungry vegetarians, meat connoisseurs, and everyone in-between. In the circa 1920 building with pressed tin ceilings and exposed architecture, Bluegrass also serves as a gallery for local artists. In the Tap room there's live original acoustic music most nights, with finely crafted cocktails, a curated wine list & a bounty of beers. Close to West Virginia's beautiful capitol grounds the family-owned and operated Bluegrass Kitchen has been featured in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal as well as Bon Appetit, Garden & Gun, Taste of the South magazines and many more.
