Been going to Mandarin House for years and loved it…until now. Cold food, less portions, higher prices. Just did not taste very good! Sorry but its the truth.

ordered the chow mein, came with pasta noodles NOT chow mein noodles, omg it was loaded with msg and soy sauce, no other seasonings, no flavor, slivers of pork and hardly any veggies....egg rolls was all cabbage, chicken fried rice, same deal and was way...over cooked, what a waste, i seriously could not eat it...what was sad is i asked people in there how good and they were even well not too good but when your desperate for chinese and even desperate i couldnt eat it...More
No question best around and the service is top. Very friendly atmosphere and always clean. My go to for lunch with a friend.
Thirty years we've been relying on this wonderful restaurant! It has never failed us. The food is always fresh and good. I don't know how they do it. Fast, friendly, accurate. We would not have survived the shutdown had it not been for Mandarin House....MONGOLIAN BEEF IS THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY!More
Got the Mongolian Beef it was far from best ever that should be removed had no veggies beef was over cooked and in a sweet souse so sweet i could not eat it was like trying to eat candy corns for dinner. They don't have...anything with there dinner but white rice.More
In supporting our local restaurants we have ordered takeout from the Mandarin House. I love, love, love their Mongolian Beef! I keep wanting to try other menu options but can't get past the Mongolian Beef. My boyfriend orders other items from the menu and has...enjoyed all he's tried, of course he always sampling mine. We have recommended to family and friendsMore
I lived in China for over a year and learned to love most Chinese food, especially the way that noodles and vegetables are not cooked to death. Many Americans won't like real PRC chow, too many bones, shells and strange items etc. Fried sparrow anyone....Mandarin house is clean and has served consistently good food for over 20 years. It's as close to mainland China non-tour, non-cruise that you will find in the the TCs. If you think San Francisco Chinese food is the standard then you'll like MH else fly there and get out of cities bigger than 2 million a small town no airport. That real Chinese cuisine.More
.....which is hard to believe since I have lived here a long time and have heard good things about this place. Decided to have lunch there by myself today. Very friendly and quick service. Had a lunch of hot and sour soup, Mongolian Beef, fried...rice and egg roll. All was very good. Soup and beef were particularly tasty. Glad I went. Will return.More
We used to go there often and it was pretty good. Tonight when I pulled into the parking lot it was empty. Went in and was only customer in the place, not a good sign. Food was mediocre at best.
We have been on the hunt for good chinese food since we moved to the Tri Cities over 7 years ago. I had been hearing about Mandarin House but never gave it a shot after several let downs at other Tri Cites chinese food locations....Now I am sad we wrote this place off without trying it. Hands down so far the best food we have had in the general Tri Cites area. Service was prompt. Our water glasses never went below half full. The prices were amazing and the portions were large. The staff was also very warm and friendly. This will be our new go to for chinese in the Tri Cities.More
The restaurant was clean, well painted and good carpet. The tables were close with few or no booths. Not any ambiance! Just simple everything with small rooms. Any substitutions will cost you such as tofu for meat. The spring rolls have ham in it so...they gave more rice. The hot and sour soup also had ham in it so we had two substitutions for that too. The food was hot and looked good and tasted good but had a lot of oil in it. There are 8 or more Chinese restaurants in the area. We will try some others. Not the most friendly place for a vegetarian to eat.More
I stopped working in Richland many years ago so had not been back to this restaurant in 5 or more years. This used to a place to go eat at least twice a month. My wife and I had to go to Tri-Cities for business...and decided to give it a try. It was just as good as I remembered. Their lunches are all $8.95. This gets the entree, rice, soup and an egg roll. The service was spot on, the portion size was adequate and the food stated fresh and very flavorful and delivered steaming hot. This is definately still a go to place in Richland for Chinese food.More
The food is very good. I think it is better than any other Chinese restaurant in town. It's my go to for take out. Have I had better? There is better Chinese Restaurants in Seattle. But not in the Tri-Cities.
This place has THE BEST orange chicken and BBQ'd pork fried rice. They serve the orange sauce in a separate container from the chicken so the chicken doesn't get soggy. I have only ordered take out but the staff is very accommodating, always offering an...iced water while you wait. Also, it is super quick and the portions are enough for about 4 dinners!More
