We had the clam chowder. My husband thought his was not hot enough. They explained the 135 degree as the law. Didn't have a microwave to heat it anymore. However, It was very flavorful. We also shared a fish & chip. Fish was a little...More

Thank you for your review. Capt. Bob doesn't believe in microwaving anything, not even at home. 😊 See you next time.

First, note that all chowders here are gluten free. My wife really enjoyed hers. I had the fish sandwich. It was a nice portion of fish. Many people came in for fish and chips and chowder while we were there. Note: It a small place...More

Thank you for the review. Thank goodness for the park out front on those busy weekends.

The crab cakes and the coleslaw (which was citrusy) were EXCELLENT. I found the clam chowder and fish and chips just average.

We ordered 4 crab rolls, 2 cups of chowder and drinks. With tip, the order came to over $100. They ran out of cups for water. The crab rolls were practically flavorless, and the service was subpar. I do have to say though, the chowder...More

Rachael, Thank you for your review. Yes, we did run out of water cups no one had expected it to be 95 degrees here at the coast. We are surprised with your response to our Crab Rolls. They are our #1 seller. They are dungenous...More

I have to say, this was not what we expected, but it was ok for what it is. The chowder was good, but not as hot as I would have liked. Maybe the were afraid of melting the styrofoam cup. My husband also had a...More

Thank you for the review Zippy. We follow strict health codes which states temp has to be 135 degrees, which can seem cooler than some prefer. I do want to say we don't use styrofoam nor will we ever. All our containers are environmentally friendly....More

My husband tried the two chowders that were on offer...like them both...another taste...can't decide...He had TWO bowls of different chowders for lunch and crab roll. Ridiculous, but he was really happy. I'm a vegetarian, so I missed out, but he had a local razor clam...More

We saw the sign for chowder and decided that we should eat. Smart, eh? I'm glad we were able to eat at Captain Bob's! It was fantastic with many chunks of clams throughout. We decided to take some back to Vancouver with us. But we...More

We stopped in for a cup of chowder for lunch . We tried the clam and shrimp chowder. Delicious, never had shrimp chowder before, and was pleasantly surprised. One (two) of better chowder that we had during the weekend.

It's just a little hole in the wall type place, but those are usually the best places for a meal. We had a bowl of chowder and a crabroll too and they were both excellent.

I don't understand why everyone raves about this clam chowder. We came here because of all the great reviews on tripadvisor. The flavor is very odd, it tastes like they use instant potatoes with lots and lots of water. (very starchy) We could not taste...More
