We had several kinds of schnitzels, and all were great. The red cabbage and spaetzle were very good, too. The best part was the ambiance. They had an accordionist, German beer flowing from taps and long tables like in a Bavarian tavern. The staff was friendly and helpful, and made us all feel welcome. We'll definitely return next time we're... More

Cute decor and entertainment. A good selection of beer on tap, tasty schnitzle, sausage, cabbage and spaetzle.

Best Wienerschnitzel, just like in Germany when we visited. Staff friendly and nice atmosphere . We ordered smaller plate and you could substitute items like German Potato Salad for Fries for $2 .

Friend said for great German food, go to Keller's. Food was mediocre at best...schnitzel was very good...Otoberfest chicken overdone (probably reheated), red cabbage over cooked and overly sweet...German potatoo salad - no bacon, little vinegar or onion, just a mound of slice potato...service prompt and efficient...prices moderate.

My husband and I ate there last week when visiting Leavenworth. I checked tripadvisor for recommendations like I usually do, that's why we picked this place. Décor was great, felt like being in Germany. I was born and raised in Germany so I know what's authentic or not. Service was great, friendly and prompt. Food not so much, my husband... More

Staff were tons of fun and we accepted the waiters suggestion and enjoyed our dinners. I didn't live the warm red cabbage but my friends did and they devoured mine. Excellent grapefruit beer!

We picked this restaurant our first night in Leavenworth and are so glad that we did! My husband loved the sampler platter of meats and I enjoyed the Weiner Schnitzel! Wait staff in authentic dress, too! Good beer, food and atmosphere! It's in the lower level of a store. Check it out!

We were here in April 2017 on a guys night out. We got the place recommended by the hotel - we had the Wienerschnitzel, Wienerschnitzel Cordon Bleu and a Jaegerschnitzel. All good, albeit it's made of pork and not veal as in Bavaria. The Apfelstrudel desert was great and met expectations too - but no one could finish it. Great... More

Authentic German food and atmosphere. In the basement and wooden interior sets the mood. There was an accordion player there on a Monday night. Weekends with live music. If you are looking for just a basic pretzel or brat this is not your place.

It's true that our pretzels aren't basic and our Brat is 1/4 lb. of grilled goodness but we are so much more. Time stands still in "The Keller" and the music, food & atmosphere can make you think you're in Germany. We appreciate your visit very much and hope you will come back see us again soon. Auf Wiedersehen! More

Being in a Bavarian village we tried this restaurant at our hotel's recommendation. It was quite similar to German dishes we ate in Germany so they score well on that count. The food was quite authentic if you like German cuisine.

Description
This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!
