Our hostess at the Airbnb told us about this place in The Gilman Village. A small cottage like place situated among other independent businesses and shops. The menu is written on the chalkboard daily. Everything is homemade and fresh. There is a choice of two daily soups, salads and sandwiches on homemade bread. Everything is made to order. We got... This was our girl's holiday gift exchange destination and we were very happy with our choice. A crackling fire and lovely decorated tree provided wonderful ambiance and the healthy lunch and brunch options were the topping. My spinach salad and minestrone soup were delicious and my friend's loved their veggie omelets. Service is very good and refills on tea water,... More

Homemade all the way. Great food. Soups, sandwiches and desserts made from scratch. You order at the counter and your food is up in less than 10 minutes. They only take cash and checks so be prepared. The best kept secret in Issaquah.

Nice place to stop on a rainy day - set yourself up with some soup, half a sandwich and a book. Staff were friendly and the food was up very quick. They've got all sorts of toys to keep the kids entertained too.

Nice venue for a lunch either in their charming venue or on the deck outside. All items on the menu are delicious. The owners have created a delightful destination that I enjoy most trips to the Seattle area.

Nestled in the trees is this sweet little cottage. The staff is very friendly and ready to accommodate dietary needs. My friend brought me here so we could be pampered with a tasty meal and leisurely conversation. We enjoyed their flavorful homemade soups and shared a delicious fresh veggie sandwich. It was the perfect place for eating and being together.... More

My father and I had lunch at the Boarding House and were just delighted. The clam chowder was excellent. The coffee was old fashioned strength, the way my folks used to make it, the sandwiches were tasty and distinctive. Later, when mentioning our discovery to friends, everyone else said the Boarding House is an old family favorite. We're late to... More

This is a landmark Issaquah restaurant featuring homemade everything. Its primarily a soup and sandwich shop. They don't take debit cards so make sure to bring cash. Its located in Gilman Village and offers a nice stroll though cool shops after your lunch.
