The food and service were both excellent. The atmosphere is definitely a tavern or pub, a little on the noisy side for me, but not excessive. I had a blue cheese burger and my wife had fish and chips. We will return.

Best Rueben sandwich and Swiss burger dip! Great friendly service and selection! Good selection of micro beer and other beverages!

Every time we go to Orcas, we stop at Lower Tavern. Yes, it is pub food, but this pub food is never disappointing. It is delicious pub food. I usually get a grilled ham and cheese and my husband gets a burger selection. Good IPAs on tap and decent wine selection. Casual, comfortable, and reliable. Keep doing what you are... More

Enjoyed our dinner here last week - our meal was fine, the service was great - we would go back - the prices were more in line with what we wanted to spend for a burger and beer.

We tried the Lower Tavern, which had moved across the street from where it was 25 yr ago when I lived in Eastsound. Even though it does not have a water view anymore, we were happy to find a local place instead of the high end tourist restaurants which seem to dominating Orcas. We had a great meal and a... More

Had the halibut fish and chips - fantastic! More like a restaurant in the early evening. After ten it becomes a true watering hole. Mostly young folks and locals, but we felt welcome and at home.

Want a good craft beer or other drink and a fine bit of comfort food? Try the Lower Tavern, lots of locals do. Saw the owner of a high-end restaurant and his receptionist/chief waitperson come in here late one night after work for a snack ... I only ate a cheeseburger and fries but they were great. Sports TVs of... More

Ate there twice. I had BBQ dip burger twice and wife had veggie burger once and Reuben the second night. Sandwiches come with fries or coleslaw and I think another choice. We had the coleslaw to cut down on calories and carbs. Many beer choices. A lot of flat screen TVs showing different sport choices. You just sit down at... More

After a meeting in Eastsound that went later than expected, the options for dinner were limited at best. A local resident suggested that we try the Lower Tavern. We were starving, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did! The hamburger I had was one of the best meals I had during my stay on Orcas.... More

There is nothing wrong with eating in a bar/tavern as long as the food is good. The food wasn't good. The grilled chicken was not thoroughly cooked and the burger was tasteless. The soup was cold. The server was friendly but somehow the service never worked out.
