Rooter's went out of business and it's now called shorty's. Food is awful. The brisket was full of fat and the ribs were unremarkable. Too bad Verl didn't train theses guys before he retired.

We had a great visit to Rooter's last night. We really enjoyed the decor and our table near the fireplace. The food was wonderful, delicious and hearty! And Linda, our server, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful!
I don't eat a lot of bbq, so when some friends suggested going to Rooters I wasn't all that excited about it. But the food was delicious. Good portions, lots of choices, and the atmosphere was also nice.
To be a bbq place and burn down should be a badge of honor. The interior is warm and inviting and even when full, doesn't seem crowded. They opened up a back area that is warm and really nice. The bbq is consistently great. Always...More
Rooters is VERY GOOD when the meat (we had chicken and ribs) is not overcooked. They seem to have some flavor inconsistencies with their mild sauce too. Their potato salad is excellent as are their baked beans. It's just hit and miss as to what...More
If you like large portions, tender pulled pork and tangy bbq sauce then don't miss Rooters. They also offer take out which is a good idea if you have a large party, more then 15 because there dining area is a little small.
The bar-b-que here is just average. It is convenient for take out if you are in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here.
A family owned restaurant. They have great BBQ food. We had the BBQ pork ribs, beans & fries for $8.99 special. The atmosphere of the restaurant feels like you're in the mountains, knotty pine wall, chairs/table. The location is near Lake Sawyer. We live out...More
