We were so disappointed at this place. We knew we were in trouble & should have turned back when we saw a sign said "Cook Wanted". Hubby ordered chicken fried steak & I ordered eggs & polish sausage. Both plate came withhalle fries potatoes & biscuit/gravy. The gravy was tasteless we keep shaking black pepper on it just to try... More

Attended mid afternoon today to find a number of people seated. Friendly and welcoming greeting and self seating. Our server was friendly and ready to comment on menu and their most popular foods. Their soup special today was beef barley. It was very good. We had Big Al's Corned Beef Hash and a regular burger. Their corned beef hash was... More

We had lunch at Big Al's diner with my wife and her friend after we fetched her at the border crossing. We liked the food and the service. Staff were friendly. This is a nice place to eat and relax after spending some time at the Peace Arch State Park.

Your typical diner food but with enthusiasm! Happy to substitute egg whites for eggs, good flavor in my sirloin burger and not greasy. Eggs Benedict was delicious and the coffee was hot and good. Definitely a great stop along the way. Only restart open in the area before 8:00am, open at 7:00am.

We stopped here after crossing the boarder into the USA. The two looks like it would be a nice place to visit, but we were mainly tired and hungry. We had an RV which we could park across the street in a empty lot. The restaurant looks like a 60's diner. There are booths and cute signage on the wall.... More

To the last reviewie, how many diners have you been to? Most diner establishments drop the check when they bring your food. I love Big Al's,the food, the service, the people, all wonderful. Apparently you want a fine dining experience from a diner. Good luck with that.

The food is always tasty, filling and reasonably priced. This was once a Denney's but is now all Big Al who is a great guy and a wonderful cook. Try his home made soups!

It's tough to rate this place because what was good was great but what wasn't good was very bad. Their chicken fried steak was homemade but had an odd seasoning and looked to be fried on the grill - not deep friend (being from Texas, we are CFS snobs lol). The special was Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes. The turkey was... More
