My husband and I visited the Inn's restaurant last night for Valentine's Day. We arrived early 5:15 to beat the crowd. There were only 4 other couples there we stood at the hostess stand for well over 10 minutes while waiters walked to the host...stand and in and out of the kitchen rudely and very obviously ignoring us standing there to be seated. Once seated we shifted around the dinning room becuse a larger party would eventually need that table. To note we finished our meal and the original table we sat at was still unoccupied. The food was mediocre at best. Service was appalling, our waiter did his best but his coworkers had so much unnecessary attitude which made the environment awkward and uncomfortable. There was obviously some kind of staff disagreement before we arrived which carried through the night. As we finished our meal it took 10+ minutes to get our check. Overall incredibly disappointing. So much potential but poor management, poor staff and mediocre food will end this establishment quickly.More

Only been there twice. Quite elegant. Fantastic food and service, at everyday prices. I will be there a lot more to entertain friends.

My husband and I tried the new menu at the Inn. I can’t rave enough about the bourbon glazed salmon. It was delicious and cooked to perfection! The mixed veggies had quite a bit of oil on them, but they were still good. Service was...great! Looking forward to our next visit!More

I have been to the Inn for dinner a few times in the past couple years. It has consistently been the most disappointing dining experience I have ever experienced. The food is fine, but overpriced. The problem is that you may never get your food,...or drinks. I have waited close to 30 minutes to get my first drink and last night I waited close to two hours to get my food. In fact, I only got it by telling the manager my family now had to leave to put our kids to bed. Luckily they got the food in a to-go box just in time to make us pay for it. Terrible management and service. I will continue to avoid this location at all costs.More

DINING AT THE INN AT WISE Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 Under new management and measurably better. The menu looks the same, but there are items available that aren't listed, like open-faced roast beef and hot fudge cake. Just ask about specials or other offerings. The...wine lost is good and a full bar is available for cocktails and speciality items. We dined around 6 PM and the crowd started to grow around 7 or 8. I had my usual filet mignon and Geanne had the salmon. Dessert was, of course, Shannon's famous hot fudge cake. We dined in the Colonial Dining Room and had our dessert in the Tap Room down stairs in a cozy private area with soft furniture and a fireplace. Alabama was beating Oklahoma on the wide screen. Perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Thanks to Shannon Scott and all the wonderful and amazing servers and hostesses for making this a very enjoyable evening in Southwest Virginia.More

Went with a group of 13 on a Wednesday. It took a long time to get the appetizer, which was cold then even longer to get the entree. The wings aren’t that great but the drinks are ok.

My family was traveling from Columbus to the smoky mountains. We needed a place to stay just for the night on the way. This place was perfect. Awesome historic hotel in the middle of a small town. Our room was recently renovated and was pristine....Very modern decor with the old historic feel of the hotel. Unfortunately we arrived Sunday evening and discovered the restaurant was not open Sunday or Monday. Not many other restaurants in the close proximity. Otherwise this is an excellent hotel. Nice parking garage on the lower level and an ok breakfast with the usual items. We got a super cheap rate for this room and that is why I booked it. Even then I would definitely stay again on our way to the Smoky Mountain National Park.More
