Clean dining area with good service. A very nice meal at reasonable pricing. My wife had the salmon and I had the chicken. Both were well prepared and served hot

Perfectly cooked rib eye steak with excellent broccoli and asparagus on the side! Yummy large salad with strawberries, cranberries, crisp, fresh lettuce topped with tender chicken. Excellent service from attentive staff.

I came here with a friend on a Friday night around 6 pm. The restaurant is located down in the basement area of The Inn at Wise. We almost walked by it if we hadn’t seen the sign on Main Street. The restaurant is surprisingly...large, with extra seating outside of the main bar area that is around the corner. We sat at the bar. They had some great happy hour specials, of which I ordered six of their garlic Parmesan boneless chicken wings. They had great flavor and were perfectly crispy. I also ordered the buffalo chicken fries which had a good combination of hot sauce, tender chicken pieces, and cheese melted over the whole dish. My friend ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were beautifully plated with tiny diced red tomatoes and goat cheese crumbles over the top. Make sure to try the Mountain Rose hard cider – it was delicious. When you go, make sure to check in on Yelp for 10% off your food order (I unfortunately forgot to use it when I paid my bill). I really liked the Pub and Tap Room and I would definitely consider going again the next time I’m in Wise.More

Local pub with local brewery selections. Food can be ordered. Nice setting for hangout with friends. Friendly staffs. Not exactly a place to meet strangers because it is not crowded at most times.

The Pub and Tap Room has a long history, which was almost concluded a decade ago when the Inn was in disrepair and ownership did nothing.. The County government stepped in and saved our Inn. They did a fabulous job upgrading and up-fitting the property,...making it "modern" while attempting to maintain the charm of the original Inn and Tap Room. Looking back, the Tap Room was a dark, fire lit dining area in the basement of the Inn with maybe 6 to 8 tables.. There was always a log fire in the fireplace. You knew the waitresses....... and the cook was a person whose name you knew. They had a very limited menu......Rib-eye or Filet Mignon...Baked potato and salad, or cole slaw and french fries....desert consisted of the homemade pies available....usually butterscotch, or peach of a pie...and the clientele knew what the menu was and went there for the steaks. Everything was fresh.....no portion control or frozen food, or anything delivered on a big corporate restaurant grade food truck. The steaks were always hand cut and grilled on a big open fire....no Organic....no Gluten Free.....no other offerings.. but a great wine list, and a few beer choices ( you were also allowed to brown bag liquor)... but they did not try to appeal to everybody in the world.. If only we could go back to those days.. Now it seems you have to have hamburgers, chicken nuggets, and all the organic, vegan, non-GMO, vegetarian, and all the other ridiculous things that stress your ability to do any one thing really well. I love my Tap Room, but people, what do you expect? Let's get back to doing a basic menu with excellence, and not try to appeal to every extreme individual on the planet. oh, the Pub...it is good.......they sell beer and wine and mixed drinks and have entertainment and serve food, and try to be too many things to to many people! Wise is a small town. and I mean really small town!!! What do you expect??? People trying to compare it to a large city execution of a similar concept or property just don't understand. It is not viable.. Do what you do well, and forget anyone who has unrealistic expectations... Please return to what you were!!!More

A nice little spot connected to The Inn. Happy hour half price apps is a little bonus. A very simple pub menu with sandwiches, burgers and salads. I went three nights while staying st the Inn. Each night had something different. Not a 5 star...restaurant but very satisfying. The bar has two TVs running, one with sports and one with news. I sat near the news tv to catch up on the day. Staff very nice, I enjoyed talking to Gary each night.More

DINING AND DRINKS AT THE INN AT WISE Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 Under new management and measurably better. The menu looks the same, but there are items available that aren't listed, like open-faced roast beef and hot fudge cake. Just ask about specials or other...offerings. The wine lost is good and a full bar is available for cocktails and speciality items. We dined around 6 PM and the crowd started to grow around 7 or 8. I had my usual filet mignon and Geanne had the salmon. Dessert was, of course, Shannon's famous hot fudge cake. We dined in the Colonial Dining Room and had our dessert in the Tap Room down stairs in a cozy private area with soft furniture and a fireplace. Alabama was beating Oklahoma on the wide screen. Perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Thanks to Shannon Scott and all the wonderful and amazing servers and hostesses for making this a very enjoyable evening in Southwest Virginia.More

There was nothing remarkable about the Pub but it is convenient to downtown Wise. The prices were reasonable and the service was average. They were quite busy during Happy Hour.

Love the downstairs feel and low ceilings but this is a Tap room and Pub.. where’s the grub? Food us mediocre as is the service.. a lot could be done here that would drive more traffic.
