I was there with friends for dinner. The roasted chicken breast was seasoned well and tasted good. The mashed potatoes were okay but the green beans were horrible!!. They were undercooked and hard. The were smothered in worcestershire sauce. They were almost black and tasted...disgusting. I doubt if I will be backMore

Often times restaurants inside hotels are not first choice of guests. This place has as many locals eating (and drinking) there as travelers.

Arrived for dinner at 5:07pm. 5:40pm finally received iced tea and my menu; only one other table (8 people) in the restaurant. 6:15pm asked for my check. It's 6:35pm - I'm still waiting for my check Only 1 waiter working the "formal" dining room AND...the Pub. Steak dinner - steak was OK, Mac-n-cheese good and green beans were excellent. Entree arrived 3 minutes after a salad I did not order but my hummus appetizer I DID order never showed. Waiter was nice enough to comp the sweet tea (I ordered Unsweetened) The other table (of 8) waited an hour for their food. Keep in mind we all arrived at 5pm when the restaurant opened for dinner service. Amateur performance. Staying overnight. I will see what breakfast is like.More

Open again on the weekends, had a wonderful dinner with 7 people. Everyone's food was excellent, and the tenderloin steak was fantastic! Very reasonable prices also.

The Colonial Restaurant is located in the historic Inn at Wise in Wise, VA. It is in the center of town next to the courthouse. This historic Inn has been restored to it's original turn of the century style. The grand lobby leads right into...the Colonial Restaurant. Ashley was our server and she did an awesome job keeping up with the eight of us. A very lovely young lady. The menu is not large but has something for everyone. The prices are in order for this type of restaurant. The food presentation was good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we all agreed to come back on our next visit to the area. Be sure to ask for Ashley.More

Lovely surroundings. 80 seating capacity and busy. Restaurant staff not well trained. Inefficient in their tasks. Tuna tartar excellent. Wild mushroom and shrimp carbonara needed salt or garlic. Steak with potatoes ordered very rare and so it was. Also tender and tasty.

The Colonial Restaurant just opened up in the Inn at Wise historic hotel. Food and service was great right from the start. Limited menu but something for everyone. The Salmon and Steak are excellent. The pasta primavera was good. They also have a chicken dish...and crab cakes. Portions for the steak and salmon were excellent. Homemade desserts are very good. Meal prices are reasonable. Appetizer and dessert prices are a little high with smaller portions, but the quality is good. Local wines are served and they are very good. Great place whether dining alone or with a large group. Best meal I've had in Wise yet.More

There are three places to eat at the Wise Inn. The Colonial is a formal dining room. I believe it is only open for supper and Sunday brunch. The Diner is informal and open from 7-5. The Pub & Tap Room has a sports bar feel... More
