The food was excellent. Outstanding seafood dishes. My wife had the “special” stuffed mountain trout. I had the Seafood Fricassee which was delicious. The only thing better than the food was the service.

Eating here is really about the colonial experience. Waitresses were dressed in period costumes and stayed in character..... we were entertained by a strolling minstrel and Mrs Campbell’s daughter... and the food was really good.... my family really loved the sweet potato pecan muffins before...More

My husband and I had dinner recently at the tavern. We both ordered the seafood platter which had salmon, shrimp and a crab cake. The salmon was over cooked and dry but the shrimp and crab cake were delicious. We really enjoyed the tavern itself...More

We ate at Campbell's Tavern on a weeknight. The place was packed with ample parking around back and a bonfire out front. The tavern is awesome and the workers dressed in period costumes is very interesting to behold. Be warned though, with the fireplace and...More

So worth the price and experience. Best she crab soup I’ve ever had and don’t miss the spoon bread. The history and ambience are so wonderful.

My wife and I have been coming to colonial Williamsburg since 1988. Christiana Campbell’s has historically been a favorite especially for breakfast. The service was great as usual, however I had the crabbed stuffed trout that was dry. The pumpkin muffins are still outstanding. My...More

Seafood is excellent. Renowned for their fried chicken — it is excellent. Make sure you as for Pooh — super waitress, great personality.

We really enjoyed the role playing of the servers to make us feel we were back in time. Muffins were a special treat and we liked the spoonbread. Great food, great service in a historical atmosphere.

We stopped here with friends after the Williamsburg Illumination. Wonderful staff, charming atmosphere. Salad was good. My prime rib (ordered medium rare) was depressing gray. My wife’s half Cornish game hen was dry and mostly bone. She got maybe two forkfulls of meat. For desert,...More

Since it is a tourist spot, you see everything. We all did business casual because we were treating the evening as a special treat for the family.

I liked all of them. Christiana Campbell's was probably my favorite for dinner. I've enjoyed the others as well. I would look at the menus and see which looks most appealing to you. I liked Chownings best for lunch.

Not much has changed since George Washington frequented Christiana Campbell’s Tavern for its delicious seafood in the 18th century. Lively conversation and learned discussion still abound, and today’s menu items could easily have been ordered by our founding fathers. Dig in to locally sourced shrimp, scallops, and fish, and be sure to try Christiana’s famous crab cakes, and a group of balladeers will help you channel your inner seafarer with toe-tapping shanties.
