My husband and I chose this restaurant for a date night on our recent family getaway to Williamsburg. The wait staff stay in character of the Revolutionary period, as well as educate patrons regarding the period's food and customs. The restaurant is lit by candlelight and a violinist strolled through, making it a very romantic environment. The food is delicious,... More

My first experience dining in one of the taverns. Very good. Authentic atmosphere and entrees were wonderful. Even Christiana came in to greet us!

What a treat! Our meal started with wonderful rolls and homemade butter! The entrees were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Everything was fresh and the sauces were perfection. My youngest enjoyed their kids meals too! The best part was the unexpected spoon bread which was served with our meal and made from the original recipe circa 1780. The evening took us... More

Eating at a historical site was new to us. The ambiance was unbelievable., even eating by candlelight with done legendary dishes. But the menu was straight out of today and was wonderfully prepared. WE highly recommended.

What a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving. You have to make reservations well in advance, and we still had to wait about fifteen minutes but that wasn't for a table as much as they just seat slowly and we were there when they opened. There was a fixed menu with limited choices from that menu. I'm not always adventurous when... More

We recently did a whirlwind tour, Americas Historic East tour with Globus tours. We saw so much in such a short time but that's the way we prefer. You do lose however, the relax its a vacation factor. But you more than make that up with all the many great American sites we did see. Christiana Campbell's Tavern-Colonial at Williamsburg... More

Campbell's is by far one of the best local taverns in CW. Food is always good and the atmosphere/entertainment takes you back to the 18th century. Campbell's is known for seafood fare so make certain to try local favorites.

We have visited Colonial Williamsburg several times since our first visit for our honeymoon 43 years ago. Christiana Campbell's Tavern which was known for Tidewater seafood was a favorite. We had dinner there once again during Christmas and were extremely disappointed with the quality of the fish! It was leathery and had obviously been frozen, cooked, and reheated....mass production fish.... More

We made our reservation a few months in advance. Had an amazing Christmas Dinner here, special holiday menu, 3 courses and several selections to choose from for each course. Very generous portions. The spoon bread and muffins were so very good! The service here was wonderful as it always has been, in spite of it being a really busy day... More

We have never has anything less than a delicious meal here. A favorite is the light and delicate cod, but regardless of the entre, the spoon bread is not to be missed. It could/should be a meal on its own. Simply addicting! The Thomases
